My Purrnina sewing machine cover
Name of Maker: Bette Dearing
My Purrnina sewing machine cover - I made this in a class at Janean's Bernina in Pasco, Wa. We machine quilted it and added a pocket on the front. I embroidered a "Purrrrnina" sewing machine and black cats from Kelly's Kats embroidery designs. This was a fun project and I also added some glitz.
Turquoise and pink charity quilt
Name of Maker: Bette Dearing
Turquoise and pink charity quilt - This was just some 8 inch blocks that I put together for our local quilt guild's community service quilts. It was donated to Habitat for Humanity. The guild provided all the materials and I just put it together.
Magic Vine
Name of Maker: Bette Dearing
Magic Vine - I made this Magic Vine Quilt by Eleanor Burns for a ranch in Texas for troubled teens. I do not know the name of the young lady who won this quilt. It is machine appliqued and peiced. I have a HQ16 and do my own quilting.
Dark Garden
Name of Maker: Bette Dearing
Dark Garden - I made this quilt for a kids' ranch in Texas that takes in troubled teens. Every Dec. they have a party for the kids and they hang all the donated quilts and as the kids' number is drawn, they each get to choose the quilt they want. I donated this quilt to them, but do not know yet the young girl's name who chose this quilt. I just cut 4x12" strips and staggered them to arrive at this design. I'm sure there is a pattern out there somewhere that someone else has come up with, but I did not use a pattern. This was one of the easiest quilts I have ever made. And it was a pleasure to donate it to such a worthy cause.
Star log cabin without the stars
Name of Maker: Bette Dearing
Star log cabin without the stars - I just finished this quilt for our bed. My hubby was shocked that I actually made something for US! It is for a Queen sized bed and I am in the process of making pillow shams and a valance to match. This was a work of love as I had not made a quilt for us before. Always gave them away. So I am rather pleased with how it came out. It started out being a Star Log Cabin quilt by Eleanor Burns, but as I was piecing away, I forgot that the last row of logs was the row that the star was added. So it is starless.

Joe's Memory Quilt
Name of Maker: Carol Bailey
Joe's Memory Quilt - "Joe's Memory Quilt" was designed and made for a dear friend, JoAnn. I wanted her to have something she could use to wrap herself in comfort and memories when "those times" came. I didn't have a lot of Joe's clothing to work with, so a redish top of JoAnn's was used as well. This addition did not take away from the quilts' masculine quality. I like the poetry of adding something personal of the surviving spouse, so I will incorporate this into future designs.
Angela's Quilt
Name of Maker: Linda Hinesley (maternal grandmother)
Angela's Quilt - Quilt was made following a class where you would buy the first block pattern and material ($7.95)...then if you had it done by the next Saturday, you would receive the next block and material FREE...continuing for 12 weeks...result the complete top costing only the cost of one unit. I really enjoyed doing this and it was a perfect gift for a wedding shower.
Rhonda's quilt
Name of Maker: Bette247
Rhonda's quilt - My daughter loved this fabric and saw a quilt similar to it in a quilt shop . She asked me if I could make one like it. So I made this only on what I remembered the quilt to look like. I quilted the large flowers individually and the blocks were stitched in the ditch with a cross through the middle. She loves it. This was one of my first quilts.
