The Birdhardts
Name of Maker: Joy M. Bernhardt
The Birdhardts - I started out learning to paper piece birdhouses. Decided to add some machine embroidery with my Artista software. Grandchildren wanted to "help" so I told each of them if they would draw a birdhouse that I would digitize it and make a block with it, which I did. Later, I decided we needed to have some birds to live in the birdhouses, so I digitized birds to represent each member of the family. This quilt is a treasure to me, but I'm sure rather strange to anyone else, lol. I learned so much doing it and it was one of the first quilts to be done on my Millennium longarm purchased in June of 05.

For Internal Use Only
Name of Maker: Cindy Lawrence
For Internal Use Only - A friend had all these crown royal bags and asked me if I could make him a quilt with them. So I did. It is a king size quilt. The top is made strictly of crown royal bags all pieced together into 6 inch squares. It was a long process of putting all of these bags together. When I presented him with his finished quilt and pillow shams I asked him what the name should be. He said that all that crown over the years was for internal use only, hence the name.
