Mariner's Compass
Name of Maker: Sheri Lang
Mariner's Compass - This quilt was started by a class Judy Matheison offered at our local Quilt Guild. It is the beginning of a bedspread for my king size bed. I am going to turn the quilt on point and add triangles (design of the triangles has not yet been determined) and then I am going to border the quilt with blocks made in the Quilt Show Block of the Month. I will use the same colors in the BOM blocks and am challenging myself to find out how to tie the two styles nicely into 1 quilt.
Rag quilt
Name of Maker: Cheryl
Rag quilt - This is a rag quilt I purchased at my local quilt shop. It was easy to do and there is no quilting when you are finished piecing, just sew blocks together and snip. It makes a great baby quilt as you can throw it into the washer often. The more you wash it the better!

MOMMA'S HANDS
Name of Maker: CHILIZEE
MOMMA'S HANDS - Serendipity was the way that this one came together. When my nana was living I traced her hands on a calender page along with my aunt and mother and hand appligued them to snow ball blocks. in their palms there is each member's initials. My brother wrote a poem that was printed on fabric and appliqued on oven mitts which was a family joke cause Nana and the mothers never used them. Our generation always did. There are two of these quilts that were made and now that Nana is gone they are very special. My mother lives with me so I get to enjoy one.
Indi's Quilt

Indi's Quilt - I have taught Chenille Classes for our local quilt shop. This is a simple five layer quilt. it has three layers of muslin in between two layers of heavy flannel. The top flannel is orange polka dots purchased at JoAnnes. The bottom is a bright floral purchased there also. The sewing lines are 1/2 inch apart. I sewed 1/2 in one direction and then the other half diagonal to that so that both were on the biaz. The binding is double fold regular cotton.

Blue Star
Name of Maker: whisperingpines
Blue Star - Making star quilts is a family tradition that has been on-going in my family for three generations. Now two of my daughters are carrying on this tradition into the fourth generation. This quilt was used as a 'Give Away' blanket for my Grandma who had passed away just a few months before her 101st birthday. It is 86"X95" with a beautiful pattern of light blue, sky blue, white, and navy blue. I made and hand quilted this 100% cotton quilt by myself. This Blue Star for my Gramma was alot of work but well worth it. My grandma used to keep me every summer for at least two months sometimes three. She is actually the first one who taught me to sew by hand when I was seven years old. In Native American traditions, star quilts are often given to honor an individual in memory of a lost loved one.
