Elegant Sunbonnet Sue - This is a quilt my grandmother made for me when I was a little girl. The Sue's are all hand stitched in a blanket stitch. I don't know if my grandmother every made other quilt. This is the only one I know of. She was more of a needlworker and knitter. I need to do some repair work to this quilt to get it back into good condition.

HANDS ALL AROUND - QUILT IS MADE OF 4ROWS/4 BLOCKS EACH. EACH ROW IS A DESIGN MADE WITH EACH OF MY FOUR GRANDCHILDREN - SHOWING THINGS THEY LOVE. EACH CHILD HAD HIS/HER HAND TRACED UPON FOLDED PAPER, UNFOLDED AND VOILA! A WREATH - OR HANDS ALL AROUND. THIS QUILT IS THEIR FRIDAY NIGHT ON THE FLOOR, MOVIES AND POPCORN QUILT. THEY LOVE IT AND ARE ALL INTERESTED IN KNOWING HOW TO MAKE QUILTS. I WOULD RATHER THEY LOVE THEIR QUILTS, THAN PUT THEM UP FOR THE FUTURE. WHAT A JOY TO MAKE.

falling leaves before the storm - this was a quilt made for a sub-group of the Sunset Slope Quilters Guild of grand juction, co.. it was made as an example for the group. we were and are all learning different types of quilting techniques. it was fabulous to see the direction we all took, the interpretations were unique. and we had a blast making them and then taking them to show-and-tell. the fabrics used were batiks, which looked like a fall storm threatening the first snow of the season. and various fall looking fabrics with small prints.

self portrait "all that glitters" - this was a challenge quilt by the Art Quilt Guild of Grand Junction, Colorado. i was a new member and never had made an "art" quilt, so i had no idea what i was doing...my husband loves this quilt, by the way. i used many different techniques from ripping fabric to bending wire. great fun! next time i will attempt a picassoesque approach or maybe a rhapsodyesque approach. is this a new vocabulary?, as well?

HUGS ABD KISSES - I knew that the mother recieving this quilt loved butterflies and ladybugs. The fabric I found for this quilt had it all sparkles and lots of beautiful bugs. I hadn't embroardered in about 20 years but did it anyways. It turned out alright considering the time lapse. The new Mommy and Gramma was thrilled.
