Underwater Window
Name of Maker: Kim Sartain
Underwater Window - This is a work-in-progress - quilt top is complete and deciding on embellishment now. I made the convergence quilt from two batiks - one mostly blue and one mostly green, and plan to embellish it with appliqued undersea "plants", fish and bubbles from buttons and beads.

Trust Me Quilt
Name of Maker: Patricia Helm
Trust Me Quilt - I made this quilt while wintering in Florida. I have seen it in a few other shops with a different name. Fun to do, the quilt is first made with 6"squares and a border then the quilt top is cut apart and resewn to form the pinwheels. It would be an easy beginner quilt.
Eight Hands Round
Name of Maker: PattyinFlorida
Eight Hands Round - This is a double mother-daughter quilt. I sent packets of fabric to my friend JaneSS and her daughter to hand piece. I made the center medallion and assembled the top. Then my mother (age 90) hand quilted the quilt. The medallion is one of Judy Mathieson's Mariner’s Compass's with a Twisted Log Cabin center from Barbara Kaempfer. The bands surrounding the Mariner's Compass were inspired by Bella Bella Quilts by Norah McMeeking. The blocks around the edge are from Judy Martin's Knock Out Blocks, the EQ5 library, and the book 100 Great Quilt Blocks.
Happy Anniversary
Name of Maker: Madeline Smith and Patty Matthews
Happy Anniversary - Made by my 7 1/2 yr old neighbor and I. It began as a sampler and then became a photo quilt for her grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. We made blocks without a plan for the finished quilt. Then I was stuck. I had random collection of blocks and a deadline. I turned the edges of the blocks with Misty Fuse and laid them out on a large piece of wholecloth background fabric. I added the star points to help pull the design together. Then I ironed down the blocks with a piece of parchment between the Misty fuse and the block. I did machine applique and then cut away the background fabric (and the Misty Fuse bound to it) that was behind each block, the the top was soft. This turned out to be a great way to assemble a sampler in a hurry.
