Design Source - Description | This is a double mother-daughter quilt. I sent packets of fabric to my friend JaneSS and her daughter to hand piece. I made the center medallion and assembled the top. Then my mother (age 90) hand quilted the quilt. The medallion is one of Judy Mathieson's Mariner’s Compass's with a Twisted Log Cabin center from Barbara Kaempfer. The bands surrounding the Mariner's Compass were inspired by Bella Bella Quilts by Norah McMeeking. The blocks around the edge are from Judy Martin's Knock Out Blocks, the EQ5 library, and the book 100 Great Quilt Blocks. |
