Christopher Lone Star
Name of Maker: Patti Hayes
Christopher Lone Star - Christopher is my youngest child and the last to leave the nest. With him went this Lone Star quilt that I made for him several years ago. It was done in a quilt class at the quilt shop where I worked. It has over 88 different fabrics in it and were all purchased in 1/16 yd encrements. At the time, I had no quilt stash and this was a nice start. Christopher is a stellar musician and an excellent performer so I thought the Lone Star with the piano key border suited him well.

My Great Grandmother's Gift
Name of Maker: unknown
My Great Grandmother's Gift - After my grandmother died young, her mother, my great grandmother, purchased this quilt to give to the next woman her son in law married--the one who would raise her three young grandsons (including my dad who was only about two years old) and it was used on their bed for a few years before being put away. I recently helped my grandmother move and we came across it and she told me the story and gave it to me. It is handsewn, handquilted and in great condition. It is one of the best gifts I have ever recieved.

Evening Glow
Name of Maker: Pamelyn
Evening Glow - My family, including Mother, sisters, nieces and sister-in-law had a fabric buying experience like no other! Sadly a quilt shop was closing in Northern Minnesota, but on a very happy note we bought fabric, especially batiks, like there was no tomorrow! Oh how I wish I had paid closer attention to the reproduction pieces! This quilt was made at a family quilt retreat. We all used the same pattern and different fabrics. The stars are paper pieced. I hung the quilt on a line for viewing and you can see shadowing from a tree branch.
