Butterflys
Name of Maker: Beverly
Butterflys - I started with the center block. My husband made me a stained glass window with the butterfly pattern. So I decided to make a quilt to go with it. Then I made the butterflys around the edges from the book stack-n-whackier quilts. I used my hand died fabric for the center butterfly and the backing.
Quilts for Kids Challenge Quilt
Name of Maker: Jeanne Turner McBrayer
Quilts for Kids Challenge Quilt - Every year the Capital Quilters Guild has a challenge to make a quilt for our Quilts for Kids service project. This was my entry in 2006, which won Viewers Choice. The challenge fabric was pink with bunnies. I added lots of other bright prints to make the sashing and borders. The pink areas are actually shadow trapunto, a bright fuschia felt layered beneath a white batiste top. The white areas were trapuntoed and cut away from white poly batting. It is closely quilted with floral motifs.
Autumn Wedding
Name of Maker: Jeanne Turner McBrayer and members of Cyberbee
Autumn Wedding - The border stars were from a "Sharyn Craig Challenge" in which 14 of us made the same block using a provided fabric and any other fabrics of choice. When I saw that the theme fabric was in autumn colors, I decided the finished quilt would be for my oldest son and daughter-in-law. They had to wait for the deadline for the finished blocks. Then I pieced the quilt using parts of the Amish Spinning Star pattern and a fabric with deer and autumn leaves. This is a large king-sized quilt.

Name of Maker: Kathy Miners
Untitled - I made this for my daughter, Michelle. This was my first attempt at machine applique.
Master Gardner 2007
Name of Maker: Jill Dugan
Master Gardner 2007 - I am a Master Gardener. I won this as a prize at our Spring Garden Fair. It ie the most beautiful garden I have ever had. Purple little flowers and Giant Sun Flowers. Best of all it is it uses very little water!!!! Thank you Master Gardener Class of 2007
Something
Name of Maker: Jeanne Turner McBrayer
Something "Girly" - I used Karen McTavish's book The Secrets of Elemental Quilting to make this trapuntoed quilt. The top is a layer of sheer cotton batiste. The hearts and other white trapunto work are cutaway from white batting. The quilt top was then layed over red felt, regular batting and backing. After tightly quilting, I tinted the floral motifs with Tsukineko inks and colored pencils.
My Delight
Name of Maker: Naomi Moore
My Delight - Made with Aunt Gracie's 1930 Repo fabric with 20 spokes
Florentine Fantasy
Name of Maker: DragonLadyQuilts
Florentine Fantasy - The Florentine collection by Robert Kaufman was the inspiration for this quilt. The fabric was too beautiful to just leave in my stash. After seeing the quit top, the Director of Marketing asked whether I would be willing to write a pattern sheet based on this quilt for their Florentine collection. I was and I did, which started my budding career as a quilt pattern designer.

Strip Bow
Name of Maker: Kwlt4fun
Strip Bow - This pattern caught my eye, but I needed to make it smaller...wanted to get it done quickly. Pattern was modified to accomplish my purpose.
Historic Perspective
Name of Maker: Marcia H. Eygabroat
Historic Perspective - This quilt is a result of a photo. It is completely pieced with commercial cotton fabrics. The blooms on the tree are appliquéd fabric snippets. The quilting in the border is clear monofilament thread and continues the scene to the edge of this piece. One has to look very closely to notice this feature of the quilt.
On the Trail
Name of Maker: Kwlt4fun
On the Trail - Made in Debbie Caffery's "Mystery in Houston" class. This was really a fun quilt to make...one I may not have tried, but it was a Mystery and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Night and Day
Name of Maker: Kwlt4fun
Night and Day - This block was taught by a staff member at a quilt shop where I was teaching. It was my first quilt using a template!! I had only done strip pieced quilts before, but I really like the effect of this block using highly contrasting fabrics.
Freedom
Name of Maker: Kwlt4fun
Freedom - The center and border fabric was found at Mary Ellen Hopkins' shop, Crazy Ladies and Friends, in Santa Monica, CA. Some of the other fabrics are from her first line of fabrics. I really like this pattern because it is great for showcasing a fabric or other design in the center.
Secluded Splendor
Name of Maker: Marcia H. Eygabroat
Secluded Splendor - A photograph I took is the background of this piece. The remainder is appliqué. Small pieces detail how lights and shadows play on the brick and gate.
