Star Crossed - This quilt represents a departure in the use of color for me. The majority of the fabrics are from the Wuthering Heights series by 3 Sisters for Moda. Values are mostly in the mid-range and the contrast in the quilt is almost all based on hue rather than value. This was the first serious quilt that I quilted on my Viking Mega Quilter and frame, using pantograms, and quilting three different patterns in the borders, corners, and middle. It was quite a learning experience for me, but on the whole I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

Meeting at the Reef - I wanted something colorful and different for my downstairs bathroom. This fits the bill but there was so much handwork on it.

Roses for Warriors - Leta Brazell designed most of the blocks. This was my first large applique project and I loved it. I gave it to my sister, Mary, for Christmas, 2006.

I am so thrilled that my granddaughter is also interested in quilting. This is her first quil. I am sure it want be her last.

Thanks to Annette - This block evolved from a Guild challenge. The person I am giving it to got me started quilting and encouraged me in my hand quilting. It is a thrill to be able to give something to her. I am a very structured quilter, so using the Cave Man Method is a big step out of my comfort zone! It was a lot of fun. Thanks Annette!!

Bear Country - I made this wall hanging from an old vest. I fussy cut the bear prints and used coordinating material to complete the design. I machine quilted in the ditch and hand quilted around the bear prints. Then added buttons.

Meredith's Graduation Quilt - This quilt was made during an International Mystery Tour at Quilter's Quarters in Stockton, CA. It's made completely of beautiful batik fabrics. This is a gift for Meredith Black to celebrate her graduation from Dickson County High School.

Impressions - These are hand painted fabrics using Kona cotton. Some have relief impressions from ferns or leaves. Some have stamped images. This project was designed as a learning experience. My sister has always had a positive impression on me, so this was gifted to her.

Cat Tapestry - Appliqued Kitties -- stretched over canvas

Turtle Dance - My first attempt with curves and an original quilt design. Used rhinestones, embroidered turtles and eyelash yarn for embellishment.

Marie's Bento Box - Every year, we have a Women's Weekend with six to eight women who attended school together (some from kindergarden through senior year). A few years ago, I started making a quilt for the person who hosted the and planned the weekend. In 2006, Marie was our gracious host and asked for a Fourth of July quilt. I love the Bento Box, for many reasons, including ease of making, so that is what I selected for her. She loves it!

Moms - It's bright and cheery and covered with strawberries! As soon as I finished the first block, I knew it would be perfect gift for Mother's Day.

Winding Ways Variation 2 - This quilt was designed on a computer program.I simply straightened the lines on the "winding ways" blocks so it could be machine pieced.Even when the pieces are not curved the illusion of curved pieces is still there.

The Garden Club - There are actually two quilts, each containing the handprint of my daughter and her preschool classmates. These were made as end-of-year presents for her teachers. They took WAY longer than I anticipated. Her class was called "The Garden Club" and so the handprints are all meant to be flowers in a garden. I started out with an idea based on a book by Marcia Layton, but then I saw the Simply Quilts episode with Lynette Jensen of Thimbleberries making a tablerunner with a picket fence, and thought that would look cute too.

Sunflowers and Asters - I wanted my quilt to look like a painting so didn't use the dark background typical of others in Phil Beaver's lively class. I did the sunflowers first, then realized it needed something more so added the blue asters, then heavily quilted it. I really enjoy this "painting" that now hangs in my home.

"Spaced Out" - I made the small beige blocks (5 3/4") and then decided to float them in the quilt. So each large 12 inch block has a beige block floating somewhere in it. I did this to create floating images. I made this for a prayer quilt for a man that has not be given out yet. It will have some prayer ties once it is determined who will receive it.
