Interwoven
Name of Maker: Sylvain Bergeron
Interwoven - New technology is nodding to tradition in this piece, inspired by the traditional rail fence block. Yellow and Red ribbons of color appear woven together is a repetitive design. Blue and green ribbons are similarly linked underneath. The overall effect is a web of colors, interwoven into an ever changing image based on lighting, angle of vision and distance, where line and color are set in motion. Complexity emerges out of simplicity.
4 Hearts United by a Thread
Name of Maker: Sylvain Bergeron
4 Hearts United by a Thread - This piece represents a full elaboration of the lines and color series, where ribbons of primary colors appear woven together in complex patterns that interact with the ambient light to produce a changing image depending on the light, viewing angle and distance. From the background to the foreground, the color layers are increasingly organized, each layer supporting the next, until the salient motif emerges in yellow: four hearts from a continuous loop which spans the entire quilt, all connected by tread.
Jungle Fever Pinwheels
Name of Maker: Maureen Anderson
Jungle Fever Pinwheels - I bought the Parrot/Jungle fabric at a sale. Took it home and has no idea what to do with it, it was so colourful. I remembered I had the Magic Stack n' Whack book and used a pattern in it and toned it down with Navy fabric. I could possible make another two quilts with the amount of fabric that was left!!!!
Chief's Blanket Quilt
Name of Maker: Maureen Anderson
Chief's Blanket Quilt - I started this quilt in a workshop with Nora McMeeking when she came over to Scotland from the USA. It was made for my grandson David who helped choose the colours. I couldn’t find the right blue and in the end dyed a sheet in the washing machine with Dylon dye that came out the perfect colour.
Mum's quilt
Name of Maker: Maureen Anderson
Mum's quilt - This was my very first quilt made many years ago with cardboard templates and scissors. The fabric used was cotton dresses and blouses that belonged to the family. As I didn’t attempt another quilt for a long time it lay unfinished for many years until my Mum went into a Nursing Home. I finished it and donated it to the home so they could raffle it to make some money for the home
Strawberry Needlecase
Name of Maker: gina Butler
Strawberry Needlecase - I Duplicated the strawberries in the fabric using freemotion embroidery. The strawberry motif was also used in the quilting on the front of the needlecase. The felt "pages" have clear pockets which hold packets of machine needles.

Maureen's memories
Name of Maker: Irene Beattie

Reflections on Loch Lomond
Name of Maker: Maureen Anderson
Reflections on Loch Lomond - This was made at a Guild of the British Isles residential week-end at Stirling University in 2001. Ricky Tims was the tutor and we all had a terrific time. I was honoured and thrilled that Ricky has included it in his Convergence book
New Beginnings
Name of Maker: Maureen Anderson
New Beginnings - This wall hanging was made as a wedding present for my daughter Kim. For each of them it was a second marriage and I thought that a Phoenix rising up from the past and going forward happily into the future summed up what their new lives together was going to be. I used my own hand-dyed fabric for the majority of the piece and made all the bias binding myself.
Medical Torture
Name of Maker: Nancy Metzger
Medical Torture - Quilt made for Charlene, who was my assistant for many years and now is entering nursing school. Quilted in a "medical instrument" design by Ellen Munnich on the PCQ. Each pass took 1 1/2 hours to quilt. The design was very dense, and I will likely not do such a dense design again. I am pleased with the finished quilt, however.

Crazy Christmas Stockings
Name of Maker: Joan Handy
Crazy Christmas Stockings - My mother-in-law made these for us when we moved into our new house. We love them because they are really big and can hold lots & lots of stuff from Santa. I don't know much how they were put together or where she got the pattern.
A warm beginning
Name of Maker: Deeya
A warm beginning - This quilt is still a work in progress. It's the result of a series of workshops to learn how patch and quilt. I'm still in the process of handquilting (and am thoroughly enjoying this).
log cabin Civil War quilt
Name of Maker: unknown
log cabin Civil War quilt - This was said to have been made during the Civil War by my great grandmother who lived in Iowa. The back is one piece of silk and might have been added later as it looks like it was machine stitched around the edges with tiny stitches. It was used and is torn in several places.
