sashiko small quilt
Name of Maker: Maryanne Peaslee
sashiko small quilt - I used traditional sashiko type designs copyright free and combined them together. I have not had my embroidery software for a year yet and am still learning and feel comfortable using simple designs as opposed to digitizing entire flowers or cartoon drawings. The border is the diamond flower design amd the center is a combination of mulberry and lotus flower designs.
Kristi's Garden
Name of Maker: Catherine Smith
Kristi's Garden - A few years ago, my best friend Kristi asked me to make a wall hanging with a fat quarter packet of purples and greens. But I had so much fabric left over, I couldn't leave well enough alone! This pattern worked so well to use up the leftover fabric -- she now has a lap quilt to go along with the wall hanging.
Blue Jean Surprise
Name of Maker: N. Bess Campbell-Domme
Blue Jean Surprise - This is a quilt made for my son out of his worn out jeans. It is pieced and backed with flannel. It weighs a TON and the quilting was challenging because of the weight. I had fun cutting up his jeans and included several pockets for storing things like the remote for his TV, an MP3 player, etc. In the center block I even included a patch with the fly of a pair of jeans. This made a closeable pocket, and for fun I lined the inside of this block with a pair of his boxer shorts! This is a wonderful quilt to cuddle under!
Chain of Love

Five Years of Tumbling Blocks
Name of Maker: Sandi Makowski
Five Years of Tumbling Blocks - My first and only handmade quilt from start to finish. I had lots of scrap fabrics in jewel tones and wanted to try English Paper Piecing. I vowed to do it all by hand - piecing, quilting and binding. I learned a lot on this quilt, but only worked on it periodically over five years while waiting at school activities, doctors appointments and traveling. I also learned that I prefer machine assembly and quilting, but like having something to take with me.
