Sweet Romance - This quilt was started in a needle-turn applique class in Feb. 2006. I used a mixture of modern and traditional fabrics to make the 36 blocks in this quilt. Hence the 2 yrs it took me to finish it!
Puzzle Quilt Blocks
Name of Maker: Laura Barnes
Puzzle Quilt Blocks - Paula Nadelstern's Puzzle Block Quilt book was the project chosen by the 9 am Saturday Sampler Class at my local quilt shop for 2007. Doing this quilt was probably one of the most rewarding and frustrating projects I ever worked on but I will never again look at a piece of fabric without first thinking how it would work in a puzzle block. Seeing Paula on The Quilt Show was wonderful and brought back all the memories of making this quilt last year.
Ventanas de los Muertos
Name of Maker: Laura Barnes
Ventanas de los Muertos - This quilt was actually started sometime in 2004. The top was finished then I lost interest because I wanted to make other quilts and my machine quilting skills were not that great yet. I wanted to more than just stitch in the ditch. My New Years resolution for 2008 was to quilt all of the tops I had made before I could start any more quilts and in so doing would improve my machine quilting. The focus fabric is from Alexander Henry, called fiesta de los muertos, thus the title Ventanas de los Muertos (Windows of the Dead).
