Chanticleer's Welcome - This is a paper-pieced quilt. The quilt layout has been modified from the original pattern to include the machine embroidered "Welcome" block.

Just the Beginning - This is my first quilt. I took a class at a local quilt shop and we used Alex's book for the class. I entered it in our local guild's quilt show and it won a second place.

Donated Quilt #2 - This is my second quilt made for those in need.

Donated Quilt #1 - I made this quilt with donated fabric for a child in need. My Guild has a program that distributes quilts thoughout the community.

Bluebird - Bluebird was made during a Thimbleberries Quilt Class. The fabrics and pattern were provided. It was appliqued with a button hole stitch.

We Salute You - Judy was retiring from the NYANG and we wanted to make a special quilt for her. She's been in 3 of the 4 branches of the service and we wanted to recognize that.

Blue Fields and Fences - This was a very early quilt of mine. In fact, I almost forgot that I made it until my mom took this photo for me. One of the benefits of creating my Quilt Show profile is finding some of these long forgotten quilts that I have given as gifts to friends and family.

The Rose Bouquet - This is a dimensional quilt with fabric roses and bow. I have quilted daisies in the borders to give it even more of a springtime feel.

O Holy Night - I made this quilt using scraps of Christmas fabric. the quilting includes the words "O Holy Night" around the borders and small stars in the corner squares, all in metallic gold thread.

Country Still Life - I made the pattern almost exactly as presented, except with some extra quilting, and buttons for the flower centers.

Jungle Jazz - I decided to make my version of this pattern with high contrast rather than the usual blending colors.

California Sushi Rolls - I made this quilt for my niece in celebration of her graduation from Seattle Community College with her degree in Photography. The quilt is an interpretation of a product shot of men's neckties, she made for a popular Department store in Seattle, during her course of study. (You can see a copy of the original photo on the quilt label in my personal photos.) I used Daiwabo fabrics to compliment the theme. The Japanese script in the right corner reads "Photography by Amy". She now works for that store full time and runs her own successful freelance photography business too. Way to go Amy!

Robin's Cottage - I made this little wall hanging for my girlfriend's birthday. She has a fabulous garden where I believe every bird in the neighborhood has nested at one time or another!

Pinwheels for Kids - Our children's hospital in Halifax is the IWK. The Mayflower Quilters in Halifax sell 40 Challenge packages of 5 pieces of fabric for $10 - evey one gets the same five pieces. The $400 from the sale of these goes to the IWK. The quilters' Challenge is to create a 'quilt' not smaller than 60" in perimeter, not more than 120" in perimeter from these pieces. Quilt to be donated to the annual quilt fundraiser in March where they will be auctioned off and money given to the hospital... the quilters have to use 3 of the 5 pieces in the bag, and can add 2 from their own stash. This one is made from the pinwheel design and I embellished it.

christmas quilt - I had a friend who wanted to learn to quilt but she had a bad experience a few years before learning to quilt and never finished what she started. I felt this quilt would be easy and give her confidence to begin again. We both bought the same Christmas fabric and began. I promised her faithfully that it would be finished. About half way through the project, she became ill and passed away. I finished the quilt and gave it to her family.. keeping with my promise. It was the same as this one.

Table Runner - The Dresden Plate was pieced by my Grandmother or my Aunt. They are hand pieced. There were nine blocks. I have made one table runner and plan on making table runners for my two sisters.

Elnathan-Jane - Jane Stickle quilt originally made in 1864. Blocks copied and printed in a book called Dear Jane by Brenda Papadakis.
