This is the 2014 BOM Quilt.   I finshed the top yesterday 1/1/15.  I had so much fun making this quilt and really learned alot in the process.  Thank you Janet Stone for sharing this adorable pattern with The Quilt Show members.  Thanks to RJR for the beautiful fabrics in the kit.  They actually included enough fabric to allow for mistakes (of which I made several).  And thanks to The Quilt Show for choosing this quilt for 2014.  I can't wait to start the 2015 BOM!

t-shirt-quilt
Name of Maker: Susan McFarland
I took a class by Debbie Bayer at  my local quilt shop, Quilt Ventura.   I used a stack of my son-in-law's dark t-shirts.  Once they were cut up, backed with fusible interfacing and mixed with 2.5 inch strip sets I ended up with LOTS of color!

giro
Name of Maker: Brenda Cupryna
This bed sized quilt was made to celebrate our long cycle ride this year. As part of the ride through Ireland, we saw many pink bicycles which were left after the Giro D'Italia started there in May 2014, hence the green and pink colourways.
It was pieced and quilted on a Janome 6500, in 3 quilt as you go pieces.

my-victory-garden
Name of Maker: Janet Knapp
My first attempt using hand dyed wools on a cotton background.  How fun and exciting to finally overcome the elusive blanket stitch.  A victory for me.
jackeroo
Name of Maker: amathers
I adore Jack Russels so it's no surprise this was so much fun to make. Like my other pet portraits, it is made using a fusible applique technique with seven different values of grey and then it's stitched and quilted onto a quilted background. The internal frame is an Australian aboriginal print that seems to suit the playfulness of the jack russell.
nodding-trillium
Name of Maker: Cindy Wilson
This started a photo I took of a flower spring 2014.  I had it printed onto fabric, then did thread art and quilting, then embroidered some song lyrics on.  This is a gift for a friend who lost her daughter.

This is a crumb quilt...I used the Disappearing 9-patch design to set the blocks together.  The other fabrics were the constant in the quilt.  Another quilt quilted on my Juki 98Q.

making-friends
Name of Maker: Georgia Andrews
“Making Friends” was created as a fundraising piece for the Victoria Humane Society inspired by a photo by Wendy Nesbitt, used with permission. The VHS logo was the jump-off point for the design: the shades of blue are those from the logo. The patchwork background incorporates new cotton and recycled mixed fabrics. The design represents the pets we adopt -- they come in all shapes, sizes, varieties, colours and ages, they love unconditionally and melt our hearts. Background longarm quilting by Arlene MacKenzie.
spiral-xmas-tree-skirt
Name of Maker: Tribblemom
I made this tree skirt last year using the Ten Degree Wedge Tool  - http://phillipsfiberart.danemcoweb.com/shop/product/ten-degree-wedge-tool/
There are lots of free patterns for the various tools on that website. You can get lots of different effects just with that one tool depending on the color placement.
