Rainbow of Flowers Lonestar
Name of Maker: Patty Latourell
Rainbow of Flowers Lonestar - I wanted to do the spiral lonestar and also try my hand at fused flowers with added inking. I choose flowers that are in my garden in Canada and adapted the fused machine applique to fit into the squares surrounding the lonestar. I machine quilted feathers and hearts in the background.
Hailey's Butterflies
Name of Maker: Nadine Arney
Hailey's Butterflies - My 7-year old granddaughter saw this pattern where log cabin blocks are arranged to look like butterflies with applique added for the bodies of the butterflies. All the pinks and all the whites are scrappy but match each other. I had seen it on the cover of a quilting magazine years ago. She loved it and I made her this queen size to grow with her beds as she grows. I added the applique flowers in the border for fun, and they are totally free hand.
Joy of Fall
Name of Maker: Patty Latourell
Joy of Fall - I used maple leaves and discharge dyed the leaves, then used batik fabric and fused leaving a shadow effect. I stitched line with different colors of threads to give the feel of falling leaves. The characters are JOY. I needed a piece for the Upper Canada Guild challenge of 2007, we were given a choice of words and I picked JOY. I love the fall season and the colored maple leaves are such a visual joy to behold each fall, before we return to California for the winter.

Jayden's Cowboy Quilt
Name of Maker: Nadine Arney
Jayden's Cowboy Quilt - This is an unusual fabric choice for a baby quilt, but we live in the "West" so I chose cowboy fabrics, like boots and bandanas for Jayden. While his mom was pregnant with him, we all had a big cowboy cook out and party at a resort in AZ, so it seemed fitting.
Cactus Blossom
Name of Maker: Nadine Arney
Cactus Blossom - This is a totally scrappy Cactus Blossom in all blues. It was a lot of fun to make and use a lot of different fabrics. I used a piano key border (I love those) and rounded the edges for fun.
Sun Flower Quilt
Name of Maker: sewmanyquilts
Sun Flower Quilt - My love of sunflowers along with being inspired by a one time viewing of a quilt by A.Stevenson led me to create this quilt. I drew out my design on paper, and digitized my own appliqued sunflowers. Every block is a different size. Each sunflower has 24 petals, partially appliqued, and the other part either embroidered, or 3 dimensional petals created.

Trip around redville
Name of Maker: Cherry Delaney
Trip around redville - This pattern was done in wall hanging size and I was making a queen size quilt. I purchased over 25 red fabrics to complete the quilt. I found that trying to use those many reds meant my selection either went toward red orange or burgundy. It was really hard to find a selection of reds that stayed the true cherry red I was wanting to use. It went together like a charm - just one block required ripping because of my inattention.
