latpatt Joy of Fall - I used maple leaves and discharge dyed the leaves, then used batik fabric and fused leaving a shadow effect. I stitched line with different colors of threads to give the feel of falling leaves. The characters are JOY. I needed a piece for the Upper Canada Guild challenge of 2007, we were given a choice of words and I picked JOY. I love the fall season and the colored maple leaves are such a visual joy to behold each fall, before we return to California for the winter.
