Kaleidoscope d'la Ricky!!
Name of Maker: Marie Joerger
Kaleidoscope d'la Ricky!! - This was made for a challenge with a few of my friends. We were given beautiful batiks and natural and browns and told to make a quilt 16" sq min. using some part all given batiks in the quilt front. I added the bright colored fabric to add interest. I also used a technique I was taught by Hollis Chatelain at the Houston Quilt Show this year, note the fluorescent embroidery floss I used to couch along some of the seams and to add the finishing touch along the outer edge. Thanks Ricky for the wonderful demo in Show 403!!

Modern Sampler
Name of Maker: Debbie Shaw
Modern Sampler - This is a Block Of The Month Sampler started September 2012. I thoroughly enjoyed quilting along with every one and was waiting for each month to reveal what kind of new block would be created. I did mine in an assortment of colors, blues, reds, pinks, purples, greens, with a sheet music print as the common fabric for each block. The sashing is done in black and the check border is in navy. Each block is quilted with a different motif and then echo quilted for density. It has a feathered border and Philippians 4:4-7 is written on the sashing in purple thread. The batting is Hobbs 100% cotton and is made with all quilt quality cotton and cotton blends. The back is pieced in a contemporary pattern. It measures approx. 42x42 and has a sleeve on the back for hanging. Signed and dated by me. Mom's Birds
Name of Maker: Karen Snedeker
Mom's Birds - This started with the center panel that I knew my Mom would love. Although not really trapunto, it has that feel as the birds and main elements such as flowers, leaves, tree, fence are outline quilted only. The rest is stippled with various size stitching. Binding was from my stash and has all main colors in tiny flowers. Mom was happy with it, so I am too!

Best Buddies - This quilt presented major challenges in getting the right fabric to reflect the coloration of the dogs. The more black dog had brown hightlights, and The brindle's coloration just didn't match any fabrics I could find in terms of color and texture until a lucky find in batiks at a quilt store brought the design together.
