Jim's Quilt - When my husband was a little boy of about 5-6 he collected military service patches from men coming back from WW11, He asked them for their patches. When we were married in 1969 my mother-in-law gave me a shoe box full of these not so clean patches and said, "Now you can have these" I told my husband of three months, "Someday I will make you a quilt out of these." I didn't know how to quilt at that time. Some of these patches go back to the Civil Wr. One is hand made, from the China Burma campaign. The service star in the center of the quilts was my son Michael's idea, he was about 14 at the time. There is only one patch that we bought and that is the Dessert Storm Patch.
Glad Tidings - I changed the original pattern. All applique is needle turned. The kit was given to me by an ill friend. She saw two applique blocks before she passed away.
Morgans Wedding Quilt - Made for my niece Morgan's wedding. She wanted a couch cuddle up quilt. I picked the fabrics in the colors she asked for and was very happy with the outcome. I made myself a lap quilt with the leftover fabrics :)
Yutaka's Wedding Quilt - Made for my nephew's wedding. Love the stack the deck technique - it's fun and fast! I picked batiks in the colors they have in they'r apartment. It was fun to work with colors I may not choose for myself.
Colorful Crossroads - My friendship group The Pointer Sisters, ran our guild lucky block drawing for a year. These blocks were samples made by the group. The layout is original and I just love the bright colors and contrast.
Chicken quilt - I took a class where we used Gwen Marston's & Freddie Moran's book Collaborate Again. One of the quilts in the book is called Oklahoma Chicken. Backgrounds are all improvised according to makers choice of faberics. Chickens are appliqued on background.
Peace, Love, and Rock 'n Roll - I designed this quilt for the New Quilts From an Old Favorite contest, Jacob's Ladder, 2013. The blocks use quotes from favorite songs, and my husband, Don, is the guitar player.

The Elizabeth II - The Elizabeth II is a replica of the ship that brought the first colonists to America in 1587. Yes, it predates the Jamestown settlement. The Elizabeth II colonists established a settlement on Roanoke Island, NC. When a resupply ship returned to the colony in 1589, the colonists had vanished. It is known as the "Lost Colony". The locals here have a saying "don't ask a local for directions, we already lost one colony!".
Beauty Everlasting - Looking for a new project I borrowed some old magazines from a friend and found this applique quilt. I loved the pattern. I came to realize how difficult it was to construct the points that are even and fit in with the rest of the design. I think it makes a good Christmas Quilt.
