Design Source - Description | The Elizabeth II is a replica of the ship that brought the first colonists to America in 1587. Yes, it predates the Jamestown settlement. The Elizabeth II colonists established a settlement on Roanoke Island, NC. When a resupply ship returned to the colony in 1589, the colonists had vanished. It is known as the "Lost Colony". The locals here have a saying "don't ask a local for directions, we already lost one colony!". |
