Found in the Attic
Name of Maker: Norma Prigge
Found in the Attic - I found a box in the attic labeled 'Skinny Jeans': they were so out of date (and ugly!) that there was nothing to do but cut them up..
Plume Garden Screen
Name of Maker: Becca LoGiudice
Plume Garden Screen - I designed this quilt to be entered in the Timeless Treasures Stitch Star Challenge. We had to use at least 2 fabrics from their Plume or Crush line of fabrics. I decided on a Japanese Shoji screen for the basis of the design. I used both sides of some fabrics to allow more contrast and to be ble to suggest grass, rocks & water, since most of the fabrics are the same value. Each of the four panels were constructed and quilted separately and then joined together. I was honored to have it chosen as one of 15 finalists.
Purple People Eater
Name of Maker: Doris Goins
Purple People Eater - This is my entry into the Hoffman Challenge. My quilt will be traveling with those in Trunk A. This is my interpretation of the song "Purple People Eater" by Sheb Wooley in 1958. I hope that you get a giggle from this whimsical piece. My apologies if this song remains stuck in your head for an inordinate amount of time :)
Sunshine Bright
Name of Maker: jetcri
Sunshine Bright - When I started this quilt I didnt care for it at all. But once I put it together with the dark purple sashing I was pleasantly surprised. Its bright and cheery and very bold colors. This quilt actually took me three years to finish. I had put it away and found it decided to finish it. thats when I added the sashing and it just came together nicely for me.
I Am Curious (Yellow)
Name of Maker: greengables65
I Am Curious (Yellow) - This is Abby, the baby giraffe at the Philadelphia Zoo, based on a photograph my husband took in April 2012 when we visited the zoo with our grandchildren. Just as he was about to take the picture, Abby got curious and bent her long neck down and looked right into the camera!

A Tribute To A Hometown Hero
Name of Maker: Patricia A Swatzell
A Tribute To A Hometown Hero - In memory of USMC Lance Cpl Frankie Watson I used his t-shirts, photos on fabric and autographs of USMC buddies he served with, emblem & American Flag to make this quilt. I then presented to Frankie's guardian.
Name of Maker: Janice Erickson
"My Friend Anna" - My friend Anna died of cancer this year. She was a good friend and a talented quilter. I had taken this picture of her several years ago, so I decided to make a fabric portrait from it. I pixelated the photo.....printed it out on fabric numerous times....cut it all apart and layered it back together by colors and shades. Then I thread painted it all, matching the threads to the shades. Some parts of the portrait are four layers deep.
Mary Brooke's Quilt
Name of Maker: Paragon Kit,
Mary Brooke's Quilt - This quilt is owned by a friend who had gotten it in pieces from her grandmother who did not quilt, but bought the squares at a church rummage sale. When she accepted the quilt squares, her husband said, “We’ll be married 30 years before you get that finished.” Well, 2007 would be their 30th anniversary, so time was short. Most of the squares had been appliquéd already; batting and backing had been cut for each square. I recruited some quilting friends to finish the squares; then I sewed them all together by hand. We finished in time, and the pictures show the presentation to the happy couple, Vic and Mary Brooke Casad.

Rubies and Emeralds Gem Quilt
Name of Maker: Lily Kangas
Rubies and Emeralds Gem Quilt - I thoroughly enjoyed working on this quilt....Using the 5 & 10 triangular rulers was easier than I thought it would be...I embellished it with free motion around some of the designs made by connecting fabrics (from Paula Nadelstern) using holo-shimmer thread and some satin rayon thread (Sulky)...Also, I've added some crystal embellishments in the centre section and at little intersection points. :)

Fleur De Lace
Name of Maker: dlbonnett
Fleur De Lace - I adapted this quilt from the free pattern found on the RJR Fabric websight, La Fleur, by changing color schemes, simplifying the applique, and using very different borders. The two lace looking fabrics, a red and a black, from my stash came to mind when I saw the pattern. I was leary of using the bright red dot fabric for the borders for fear it would overwhelm the applique, but it ended up enhancing the look. The applique seems to jump right off the background! It turned out much nicer than I had ever envisioned.
