A Quodlibet for Winter
Name of Maker: joytoquilt
A Quodlibet for Winter - The biggest challenge in making this quilt was in finding 11 each of assorted dark and light batiks that "played well together." Solid black is used as sashing, borders and in some of the blocks. Of all the quilts I have made, this is probably my favorite. It was accepted in the 2010 Wisconsin Quilt Expo, my first quilt in a juried show. In case you're wondering, a quodlibet is a "whimsical combination of familiar melodies."
Boxed Batiks
Name of Maker: joytoquilt
Boxed Batiks - Made entirely of batiks, some from my stash, others bought specifically for this quilt. It has a Hobbs washable wool batting and is quilted with an all-over pebbles design. Each of my three children got to pick a quilt at Christmas 2009 and this was my daughter's favorite.

Rose Garden
Name of Maker: Ann
Rose Garden - Just put the final stitches on the binding. I started this nearly 2 1/2 years ago but have made others along the way. The original pattern has intricate applique on all the sashing and border, but I knew I could not achieve that so I opted for the machine embroidery instead. I decided to embroider on black since I planned to use the black and red border fabric. Hope you like it.
