House and Garden - This quilt was completed during a yearlong Thimbleberries Club in Springfield, MO. It was a lot of fun and I had it professionally quilted by Quiltin' Bill who does marvelous work!!

Wizard of Oz - My brother loves old movies and it was the 70th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz." I bought the material and then designed the border and blocks to fit the pictures. It was great fun to do.

A Little Bit More...About Bears - I love teddybears and I love hand applique so this was a perfect fit!

The Fairies At The Bottom Of My Garden - I have had a fondness for fairies since I was a little girl, when my Grandmother, who lived in England, sent me a book on Fairies for Christmas.

Prospect Park - The Prospect Park collection by Benartex has 3 focus fabrics to incorporate into a design. I decided to make simple columns with a pieced block running up and down the center and flying geese on each side, alternated with the focus fabrics. For the borders I used one focus fabric on the sides and another on the top and bottom. I learned this method of adding borders from my sister, Janet Houts, who will do anything to avoid a mitered corner. I love the borders and you will be seeing more borders like this in the future. Christmas Memories - This quilt is machine appliqued using raw edge fusible and stitched by a machine blanket stitch. I replaced a couple of the original blocks to reflect my own memories of Christmas

Simply Glowing - Only GREEN fabrics were used. Quite a few were donated by friends to help get a wide variety. There are over 300 different fabrics. Then it took over a month to organize them all into value order. The border is all individually hand cut leaves from pre-printed leaf fabrics then raw edge appliqued, based on a photo I saw of the blended borders technique. Free motion quilted on my Sapphire echoing the border and and a few leaf motifs. Which gives it the feel of swirling leaves.

Sweet Tweet - I designed this small wall hanging to teach a class on freezer paper applique. Since I bordered it with squares I thought quilted circles inside worked pretty well.

The Fat Lady Has Sung - I've always wished that I could sing so that at a long, boring event I could jump on the table and belt out a song. Here was my chance, for the Quilting Arts "This is Entertainment" challenge.

Welcome to my Home - The sea refreshes my soul. Snorkeling takes me into another world where sea life shares its beauty. This piece portrays the beauty and environment I love there.

Lone Star - Ricky came to Dubai, after the talk, I watched the DVD, & wanted a similar effect without the appliqué.

Figgy Pudding - I made this quilt for my Mother-in-law. I found the pattern on Moda's web site. I used their Figgy Puding & Basic Greys fabrics in the quilt.

Optical Illusion - I made this quilt for my son's birthday. I found the pattern in a local quilt shop. It looked like a nice pattern for men. I chose black & white with a border of blue.

Batiks in Blue - I made this quilt for my father's 80th birthday. The pattern is from Easy Quilts. I saw the fabrics on the cover of McCall's Quilting Feb 2008 and found the fabrics at my local quilt shop.

Tree Skirt - Saw this tree skirt in a booth at the Pacific International Quilt Show and fell in love. Bought it, came home and made it...got it done just in time to put under the tree for Christmas 2010! I'm in the process of making a matching tablerunner...hopefully will get it done in time too.
