Kids Quilt
Name of Maker: Bride of Christ kids
Kids Quilt - The children in my wed. night class wanted to learn to make a quilt. Ea. child selected a picture they liked and either colored it in with fabric markers or ironed on fabric pieces. Several of the blocks are orig. designs by the children (ages 5 to 12). The children also hand dyed their fabrics. They had to tie the quilt vs machine quilt it, so that all children could tie a knot and say a prayer. The quilt was a gift for our pastor...for Pastor Appreciation month.

African Dream
Name of Maker: Lenisa Harris Cooper
African Dream - My mother spent 4 weeks on Safari and this is a remembrance quilt I made for her. I have yet to put her pictures of the trip on fabric for the large empty yellow squars you see there as she has miss placed them...I was going to just print some off the internet but I want them to be what SHE saw and not what others have seen...So whenever she digs them up, I will add them... Love you MOM, Necie
Play with Misti for me.
Name of Maker: Susan Rhudy
Play with Misti for me. - I have been making quilts for Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative and took some time out to make one for my sister Kay. I took a picture of her dog, corrected the eyes, darkened and simplified the background. I printed it out on 100 percent cotton fabric with my Epson 1900 printer using the Ultra Premium Matte setting. I then added four layers of batting to the nose and three to the body. I quilted the dog in the first layer. I used gold and copper thread for her dog tags. I did overall quilting in the fourth layer which was behind the dog and the background. Misti's coat is so luminescent that it showed up in the fabric print. I tried to follow the curliness of her cockapoo hair when I quilted it. I mounted the quilt on an art canvas and it improved the picture greatly.

Lea's Farmyard
Name of Maker: lotti deringer
Lea's Farmyard - Thought out the project when i was lying in hospital with a broken ankle. The idea is that this playquilt acts as a comfortable blanket for an infant and baby to sleep and play. As the child grows, it should become a playrug with lots of details for different games and to enhance the imagination. The quilt was given together with a collection of wooden farm animals which can also go inside the house and barn as these are multi-layered with different fabrics insdie the rooms and moveable curtains/doors. As you can see, not only Lea, but also her friend enjoy their comfortable playground. Great fun to do - but think it'll remain one of a kind.
Nina's Quilt
Name of Maker: lotti deringer
Nina's Quilt - first of a series of 4 "landscape" baby quilts again - the quilt is designed to "grow" with the child the basis for the design is a childhood drawing one of the babies' mom had done this was very freely interpreted according to materials in my stash and the shops while i was searching different materials were used to give the baby interesting textures to feel and explore while still quite small buttons, ribbons and things were used to embellish and add interest for baby and child. crochet flowers can be added / moved (affixed to the button flowers) when the child is a little older. crochet butterflies are fixed - but clouds can be moved (large push-buttons - no velcro as those often damage childrens' clothing) again the blanket can be used as background for wooden and other toy animals, cars & whatnot

Birds of a Feather and Blocks Together - I just wanted to make a quilt that I could name, "Birds of a Feather and Blocks Together". It has some traditional Sisters Choice blocks combined with flower and bird applique blocks. The applique is a little Baltimore with a clear Piece O'Cake influence. I loved making this quilt.
