Joyful Signs of Spring
Name of Maker: Pat dicker

Steven's 7th Grade Math Class Quilt
Name of Maker: Children in her Math Classes
Steven's 7th Grade Math Class Quilt - Steven's 7th Grade Math Teacher, Mrs. Saxon, gave the students a square of muslin to draw or write whatever they were thankful for. She asked for volunteers to put them together in a quilt. There ended up being three different quilts. I put this one together using red, white & blue people fabric as the sashing between the squares and as the backing. I also added star buttons in the cornerstones. His teacher was very happy with the way this one turned out.

My row is the third one from the top - crazy quilted blocks.

Wool Flowers
Name of Maker: Joan Piercy
Wool Flowers - I saw this quilt at a quilt show in Charleston, SC, and ordered it as a BOM. I like to embroider by hand so learning to sew with wool was terrific. I plan to do echo quilting by hand to finish it.
Blue Flowers
Name of Maker: Joan Piercy
Blue Flowers - This miniature quilt was made for my best friend, Linda Jennings. The blue and white hexagons are authentic 1836 fabrics I found at the Metrolina Expo in Charlotte, NC. The beading and embroidery are my own design.
My YoYo Tree
Name of Maker: Joan Piercy
My YoYo Tree - In July of this year, the York County Quilters were given our annual challenge. This year it was entitled "Trees With Exposed Roots." We were given a mottled purple fabric that had to show on the quilt top somewhere. I designed my tree from one I saw at a cross country race. I decided to use the focus fabric for the "leaves" of the tree. I made yoyos from the focus fabric as well as two other fabrics. They blended well with my background fabric. I embellished my tree with leaf beads, large seed beads, small seed beads, a bee, and a hummingbird. I embellished the background with two evergreen trees and two small brown bears.
Fractured Madness

Fractured Madness - My first try at English Paper Piecing - loved it and Cindy's directions are fantastic.
Charming Houses

Kaaren's Celtic Flower Medallion
Name of Maker: Me
Kaaren's Celtic Flower Medallion - I wanted to make a quilt with both Celtic knotwork and a flower focal point. I hand-painted the design and really began to explore machine quilting on this piece. As I worked on it, the quilt became a favorite of my aunt. She passed away, so it was a while before I could pick it up again and complete it. It is finally finished today on Christmas Day and for that and the memories I am glad.
Mint Chip for Holly
Name of Maker: atkinssm
Mint Chip for Holly - I love batiks and wanted to use a Bali Pop to make a Christmas gift. I came up with this idea that was fast, fun, and easy to make. If anyone is not familiar with Bali Pops, they are a package of 40 assorted 2 1/2" batik strips by Hoffman. I selected 27 of the strips and arranged them so they shaded from one color to the next and cut 6" segments and sewed them together in a bargello style.
Sara's ONE FABRIC WONDER QUILT
Name of Maker: Anna Palmer
Sara's ONE FABRIC WONDER QUILT - I took the workshop but already had the fabric and could not afford to buy more materials at the time. You are suppose to make the quilt using 7-9 yards of a border print of the same fabric. I used Kay's technique but using a design board I laid out the blocks until I found a pleasing arrangement. I used border stripes from a green colorway then put a second boarder using the blue and pink stripe floral border. I made miter corners for the first time. I liked the process and plan to do this quilt again using different fabrics.
Becca's French Braid
Name of Maker: Judith Anne Quiltzz
Becca's French Braid - Rebecca's favorite colors are purple, blue and green. The pattern is from the book French Braid Quilts by Jane Hardy Miller. Jane is knows to me as Rusty from the Quilt Scene in Miami, Fl. I gave Rebecca her quilt in December and she loves it.

Erik's Quilt
Name of Maker: Barbara Lazier
Erik's Quilt - This simple 10" block has many settings but is very effective because it is bordered with black & I used all Australian fabrics. It was made as a Christmas present for my son-inlaw.
