Design Source - Description | In July of this year, the York County Quilters were given our annual challenge. This year it was entitled "Trees With Exposed Roots." We were given a mottled purple fabric that had to show on the quilt top somewhere. I designed my tree from one I saw at a cross country race. I decided to use the focus fabric for the "leaves" of the tree. I made yoyos from the focus fabric as well as two other fabrics. They blended well with my background fabric. I embellished my tree with leaf beads, large seed beads, small seed beads, a bee, and a hummingbird. I embellished the background with two evergreen trees and two small brown bears. |
