LOVELY STARS AND RECTANGLES
Name of Maker: Kelly Gill
LOVELY STARS AND RECTANGLES - This is my very 1st quilt. It is such a lovely design that shows off the star block. It is a great little table topper if you didn't want it as a wall hanging. The quilt design is in a book called Quilting from start to finish by Katherine Guerrier. The actual quilt in the book needed a flying geese border after the triangles but being my 1st quilt I didn't want it to big so I stopped it at the triangle border. I machine quilted the quilt on my sewing machine, it was quilted in the ditch around all the borders.

Benefit for Anthony
Name of Maker: Mitzi Piepho
Benefit for Anthony - I made two of these quilts, thinking that I can have them on hand when I need to give a quilt on short notice. While I was making this, it was determined that our neighbor's nephew - only about a year old - needed a liver transplant, and they were having a fundraiser for his benefit. I donated this quilt. My neighbor had no idea what went into the making of a quilt and when she saw this, she decided that she wanted her nephew to be able to keep the quilt. However, she still wanted to raise money for the cause. She has seven sisters, so between the eight of them, they donated money for the cause and gave the quilt to their nephew. He went through the surgery and is doing very well a year later.
