Rebecca's 21st
Name of Maker: v Miller
Rebecca's 21st - This quilt was made for my stepdaughter's 21st. I used ohio stars in the sashing to frame pictures of rebecca and a beautiful japanese fabric in the blocks. When I created the pictures, I altered the colour balance so that the pic matched the stars and toned down the photos so they were not "in your face" like many photo quilts. The quilt was quilted (by me, on my homemade longarm) with a variegated thread that included all the colours of the quilt, with large roses in the large blocks. I finished by also framing the pictures with a pointed satin stitch. The quilt is quite large, and I am very pleased with the way it all went together.
Name of Maker: Louanne Graeber
"Belhaven College" - Courtney wanted a quilt that represented her college. She is a senior. We could not find anything for her, so we adapted the college logo and colors to design her a quilt original.
Name of Maker: Louanne Graeber
"Biblical Blocks" - This quilt was made using the above book as a guideline, however I used some block patterns from other sources to represent scriptures chosen by the owners. A framed 'legend' was also made to go along with the quilt so the owners could remember which block represented which scripture, at the request of the owner.
Name of Maker: Louanne Graeber
"Bali Rays" - This was a BOM from my local quilt store. I, however, added the borders to make the quilt fit our king sized bed.
Name of Maker: Louanne Graeber
"MoonGlow" - "MoonGlow" was a quilt kit I admired the moment Jinny Beyer put it on the market. We bought the kit at a local quilt store when it went on sale and it set in my sewing room for awhile. I guess I was afraid of the piecing, but eventually got started. Now it is a treasure that I have dedicated to my husband for all of his love and support.
Name of Maker: Louanne Graeber
"At Home in The Woods" - "At Home in The Woods" is a block of the month that was a pleasure to make. I used beads for the apple blossoms and for the eyes on the animals. My grandsons felt that the animals needed eyes!
Name of Maker: Louanne Graeber

Whispering Pines
Name of Maker: Frieda Anderson
Whispering Pines - This is a raw edged fused quilt. I have used my own hand dyed silk in the background behind the trees and the rest is my hand dyed cotton fabric. It is machine quilted on a home domestic machine, using rayon and cotton thread.
2009 Challenge
Name of Maker: Darleen
2009 Challenge - Our Guild Challenge was Black & White & 1 other color (my 3rd color turned out to be gray). You could use white on black & black on white but the 3rd color had to be tone on tone with no other colors (no black or white) & had to read solid from a distance. We also had to use the 'Twist & Turn' technique for each block with at least 2 twists. The quilt also had to have applique on it. I used the 'Give & Take Applique' technique learned watching The Quilt Show (sorry, I don't remember the episode # right now) & drew my own pattern.
Contemporary Forest Leaves Quilt
Name of Maker: Karen Taber
Contemporary Forest Leaves Quilt - This quilt measures approximately 40"x50" and is made with 100% cotton fabrics. This quilt was inspired by the design concept for circle play and a desire to use my batiks, and additional fabrics in a different way then I have been. The result is an almost watercolor effect done with squares and triangles. The addition of stylized Leaves adds interest, as well as leaves quilted the border and the circular shapes in the background. This would make a perfect quilt for a baby or a little child's room, or even a wall hanging in that guest bedroom.
