California Poppies
Name of Maker: DixieT
California Poppies - I was inspired by a picture on a catalog by Coldwater Creek of a field of poppies in all the colors you see in this quilt. I used all batik fabrics and to make the center I cut a square of freezer paper, folded it corner to corner twice and cut a giant snowflake to get the center design. I then fused it with fusible web and satin stitched all around. I added the simple stars all around, and this time all the points are perfect! Lastly, I added the poppies with the fusible web, winging it on the shapes.
Under the Sea
Name of Maker: Monique Kleinhans
Under the Sea - A child's quilt, made using bright batik water tones and applique characters based off of line drawings in my Nieces coloring books.
Garden Gifts
Name of Maker: Robin Wheat
Garden Gifts - These flower blocks were completed as a Block of the Month project through my local quilt shop, Sew 'n Sew in Fort Bragg, CA. The posie border is a combination of small nine patches and some leaves I learned to make in a Barbara Dieges class. The completed quilt includes a piping stem running through the border that I saw on Simply Quilts. When completed, I knew this would be the perfect birthday present for my sister, Cris, for a 'milestone' birthday this year. Cindi Jo did a lovely quilting job of vines, leaves and echo quilt designs as well as freehand on each individual bloom.
Moonlight Dreams
Name of Maker: Monique Kleinhans
Moonlight Dreams - I made the thread art fish during a class with Ellen Ann Eddy, and then pieced together a background using oriental fabrics and angelina for embellishment.

Autumn at "the Cabin" - Using photos taken around the Cabin during the fall, I created leaf blocks on different shades of blue to match the changing sky in this area during the fall months. The border is a pieced border from the Border Workbook by Janet Kime.

Badlands

Andreas Wedding Quilt
Name of Maker: Karen Good
Andreas Wedding Quilt - I purchased the kit for this Irish Chain Quilt at my local quilting shop. It took me a few years before I actually attempted to make the quilt and once I figured it out, it went really well. I loved this pattern and thought it was so beautiful on the wall. My daughter Andrea was overwhelmed when she received this quilt as a wedding gift. I stippled with my own pattern of hearts and also stippled their names and wedding date on two of the white blocks. I'd love to attempt this again. Since I have a huge stash of fabric it shouldn't be too difficult to come up with colors to go into this quilt. That's Andrea holding the quilt with her husband Deryl on the other side.

Graduation Present for Evan - I like this pattern because it was a quilt as you go project and fun to quilt in pieces. The quilt was published in Divide & Conquer, by Nancy Smith & Lynda Milligam. I selected quilting patterns for the top from Infinite Feathers Quilting Designs by Anita Shackleford.

Winter at
Name of Maker: Monique Kleinhans
Winter at "the cabin" - This wall quilt was made using photos taken around the cabin in the winter. I placed the photos in the center of the log cabin style blocks to border the center square. Two corner stones are pieced trees and then there are appliqued trees across the whole quilt. A family of deer are bedded down in the left bottom corner as well.

Stars in Pink - A variety of pink batik fabric was used for most of the pinks, although other 100% cotton fabric was used. This is a pattern I borrowed from a friend. I only remember that one of the two blocks was Jacob's ladder.
