Coca Cola Cats
Name of Maker: Me
Coca Cola Cats - The white background blocks are 3 X 3. The border is 4 inches. The stencils for the cats are from an AQS magazine (Unknown). The band of hearts in the center (stencil) is in "60 Machine Quilting Patterns" by Pat Holley and Sue Nickels (Dover Publications; 1994; plate 10). My kitchen is done in a Coca Cola theme and I love my two cats. They were a perfect match in this project!
Postage Stamp
Name of Maker: Me
Postage Stamp - The original patterns calls for 1-inch blocks to make this quilt. I made it in 2-inch blocks instead and used fabrics from my massive scrap box. I also changed the inside band from a light one to a dark one (I love dark colors). I believe that the simplest designs allow you to make quilts with stupendous quilting. I love the way this quilt turned out. I especially love the unique "inside band" that designer Helen Weinman put into the quilt. The finished quilt is 56 X 72.

Butterflies Go Free
Name of Maker: Beth Owen
Butterflies Go Free - The fabrics for this Harmonic Convergence quilt were chosen because they "sort of" went together and because I didn't think I'd use them for anything else. I wanted to test the Harmonic Convergence process before I used it with "good" fabric. As the quilt came together I liked it more and more and could envision the butterflies trying to get out from behind the "bars", and so I appliqued some butterflies on the top. Thus the title "Butterflies Go Free". Quilting was done with metallic silver thread which doesn't show up in the picture.
