Design Source - Description |
I visited Yad Vashem, Jerusalem's Holocaust Museum in 1991. God inspired me to make this quilt. The blocks, first in 30's fabrics and then in solids, tell the story of the Holocaust in chronological order. Black (hate and death), red (blood), brown (Nazi uniforms) and orange (fear) tell part of the story. Block titles, such as, Memory Block, Star of David, The Stockade, Boxcar Patch, Robbing Peter to Pay Paul, Nothing Wasted and Lost Children reveal more details. |
