Design Source - Description | Figures in red (some injured or missing) stand in the open doorway to their home wanting a hug and welcome home. A larger figure (Mom) on the back offers them a hug and the chance to live again in peace until the next war comes. I began this quilt on Labor Day and finished it on Armistice Day less than 9 weeks later. In that same length of time soldiers complete basic training. I consider this a pro-peace, rather than anti-war, quilt. |
