Well, well. Just today - July 10th I felt that I'd like to visit my old friend at TQS, and voila! I do not feel I can read through all I've missed, but I have made some great friendships through this forum, and would love to stay in touch. I'm back, but have lots to catch up on...including my sewing room. What a disaster. However, my DH has learned to iron over the past few month of my illness, so isn't thank great?

How did the Chinese whispers go?

I'm not ready for another exchange, but those do seem to keep us connected...Maybe soon-ish?

hugs all around.

Thanks everybody for the good words about my design wall, pressing board, wonderful husband and the blocks.

The blocks are not in any kind of order, just how I put them up there from the stack. I'm thinking of sewing them together in small groups of 2, 3, 4, 5 etc with a small border. I have to think about it though.... They are fun to make. Easy, and putting the 3 fabrics together for each block is like designing a little quilt. They are currently at 5 1/2" square. They will be 5" finished.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Geneva, what a great design wall--eight feet, love it, and the blocks on it! Clara, you have my empathy with your raccoon invasion. We only had a raccoon walk into our dining room once and refuse to leave when my husband had stepped out onto the deck to water the plants and left the door open. If one shows up on your property and likes it, they usually bring family and friends the next time around. They are such an invasive bunch, aren't they!?

Geneva, your blocks are so pretty! What is the size of your blocks? I love batiks and have a pretty good stash that needs to be in a completed quilt!!

Beverly, thanks for the reminder.
Geneva, your design wall looks like mine. The only thing bad is when I need to place something high on the wall I need a stool. I use my old plastic exercise stepper. It is very stable and longer that most stools. I wish it was longer though.
Love your quilt blocks.

Hey everybody!

Look what my husband and I have been doing!

It's my design wall. It's 8' x 8', covered with felt. Those are the square within a square or economy blocks I've been working on. (About a third of the way done.)

I'm so happy! We also made Sharon Schamber's pressing surface. It's 28" square.

Oh my, Geneva, does your husband quilt, too? We want to know how many times you change your mind before you stitch the blocks together  Your blocks are beautiful. It must be fun to see how each fabric plays with another.

I agree, Sharon Schamber's pressing surface is the best.

Very nice, Geneva! Wish I had wall space for a design wall!! I love how open my house is, but there sure is very little wall space...
