I'm happy to report that my sister's surgery went well today. The dr. was able to complete the repair without having to introduce any gas bubble into her eye, so there is an outside chance she might be able to go to Seattle - it will depend on her determination and mostly pain tolerance. She's staying with me tonight (her DH was at the hospital when she woke up but they have his 2 young grandchildren living with them, so he took them home to Illinois tonight.) I'll take her back to Madison in the morning for a check by the dr., then home. Thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers.
So happy to hear that your sister's surgery went well and hope she has a speedy recovery.

Oh, Mary, I am so sorry to hear this! I will definitely be praying for your sister! How sad that she probably won't be able to go with you to Seattle! Hugs! Dawn

My sister, Jeanne (also my quilting and singing buddy) needs your good thoughts right now. She just called to tell me that she will be having surgery on a detached retina tomorrow in Madison (only because they can't find an eye surgeon in Rockford - they're all at a conference in Chicago!), with the retinal specialist who has treated both of my torn retinas in the past. Of course we're concerned for her vision, but she is also just sick at the thought that she likely won't be able to go to Seattle to sing with our Sweet Adelines chorus in the international competition this next week. I'll be with her tomorrow and will try hard to keep her spirits up, but I could use some help - so keep us in your thoughts. Thanks!
Praying all goes well for your sister.
