I played with my BSR today on some practice sandwiches. I think I need a class! I did work on an machine applique wall hanging that I had put aside. I had to reverse sew a few times, but not too many.

I've started quilting on the Quilts for Heroes quilt and have about 20 percent of the blocks done so far. It's looking quite nice so far.

Last evening I basted the Grandma's Garden quilt that I am finishing for a friend. I started the quilting too. It is going to be a long Tilda project.

I was able to get more quilting done on the baby quilt. So far I have done the center trapunto motif, in the ditch on the fans and echo quilting around the center cluster of fans. Today I will get to work on a little more echoing on the corners and start the trapunto around the edge. Kyle and hubby are off to work and Melissa is at the HS for freshman orientation. That gives me a few hours without interuption. So I guess I had better stop surfing and get downstairs. Cheryl

I was able to come home early today because of the weather so I got another block pieced for a blue/white quilt/wall hanging that I hope to make. Sandi in windy wet FL

Yeah... Monday I got my quilt squared up ... now the final finishing touch... sewing on the binding.

I went to HOME DEPOT and bought wood to make a new quilt stand to display my quilt at the show.

I also pinned my batting to my backing for my Kaleidoscope quilt....

This post is familiar as I am typing it.... did I already post it?? not sure... must be having a brain fart!

Im with you Judy. The olympics have kind of taken over. I do have some hand work, but that isn't what I really need to finish so today I am stating that "I WILL GET IN MY SEWING ROOM TODAY" Even though it is extremely beautiful outside. My other distractions are two teens starting school next week. Cheryl

I haven't seen my sewing room since the Olympics started. I went in there to get some thread and was overwhelmed with the mess in that room. Stacks of fabric and projects on my cutting table. I have got to do some cleaning up before I work on my UFOs. I have been doing hand applique on my chocolate BOM in front of the t.v. so my time hasn't been totally wasted. Then, of course, I have been doing the Bookworm game on the computer which is within sight of the Olympics. I am glad this is going to be over soon. Judy in AZ

Yesterday I got another of the twin-size tops basted a la Sharon Schamber, and got it quilted--very simple quilting, a grid of wavy lines about 3.5 inches apart both ways. Today I got the binding on, so it's all done. I need to get going on quilting one of our Quilts for Heroes tops, maybe this evening.

Pat in Rockport, TX, who finds this topic helps keep focus on actually accomplishing things, LOL

Went up north for the weekend...no quilting ... no time... I did go to guild last night and squared the quilt for the binding.... I just might have the binding sewn on by next month.

I also pinned my batting and backing for my flip and sew kalidescope.... I will have that ready to go by the weekend... so progress for me.

YEAH !!!!!

I love the teal blocks. They are so pretty. I wish I had found my camera to take the photo of the beater quilt that I made for my lawyers daughter. It was all bugs and bright colors. She is really sick. He said she just lit up when he gave it to her. So no matter how young or old believe me these patients appreciate that some one out there is thinking of them. :D I am still working on my cathedral window and my applique skills. My DH says I am a sadists. Either that or I must really have a love hate relationship with my hands. I stab myself so many times with the needle that you would think blood was the real purpose to applique. If I could just stop shaking. Oh well Momma always said "it hurts to be beautiful" of course that was while I was getting perms or other beauty treatments done to me.

I have truely been working at a needle a day pace. I finished piecing a Louisa Smith strips and circles wall hanging in purples and greens. I need to put on borders yet but that is the easy part. Today DD and I shopped at Goodwill, Sam's Club, and Wal-Mart. She is going back to college tomorrow and will be in an apartment for the 1st time. I can't find my living room  And I'm too tired to even think straight. Gloria wishing I was in the sewing room

I went to a workshop today held by the local quilt guild. We worked on quilts for valor. I got the backing cut and sewed together for the one I started last month, so it is ready to take to the long arm quilter. I started a 2nd project and all the rows are done on it. I have to decide how to do borders still on it.
