Terry what about a crazy quilt border but with very large pieces like 4-6 inches? You could use solid fabrics in the same family of colors already in there but to tone it down some and quiet it but not too much. Hoping I'm not making this too abstract. The crazy quilt piecing will still give it some activity but large pieces and a solids may quiet it a little and still be an interesting addition.

I really got busy last week. I made two table runners, one for me and one I donated to a craft fair where my Mom lives. I finished quilting and binding my Louisa Smith project. I started a winter wall hanging and got two blocks of that done and started on the third. I watched the last show but didn't spend any more time on line. Now I need to catch up here

Now that my kaleidoscope is done (except for quilting) and the October BOM is done the next thing is to quilt a Quilt of Valor that is pin basted. Shouldn't take too long. And tonite as we watch the debate on TV I plan to put on some new wedges of a dresden plate quilt that my mother made years ago. Some of the wedges are shredding, so today I bought some Aunt Gracie's fat quarters and cut some pieces to hand sew them on the quilt over the bad ones. Not my favorite thing, but it needs to be done if I am going to use the quilt.

I worked another block of time figuring out more ways that don't work for the Round Robin. . .my sewing room is a disaster and I still haven't made progress!! It is starting to get funny because it is so absurd. Maybe tonight I will have progress.

Sandy--I'm impressed that you log a couple hours of quilting after a long day.

It always interesting to hear about what you all are working on. Since Labor Day I could post the same statement everyday. I spent ? hours hand quilting my son's quilt. After cleaning the kitchen I work till 8 p.m. so I am quilting at least 2 hours a day and more on weekends. Much more on weekends.

Today, I will do more of the same, stitchin, I usually work from 7am to 2pm. then I have to get ready for the ladies who will be coming for a day of sewing and gossiping :P . I will tell you what their projects later.
Again, thanks debbie

Whew, I got all the Drunkard's Path blocks done for the inner border today, so maybe tomorrow I can assemble the borders. Then I can get going on the center again. I'm enjoying this one, but I'm glad there's no deadline.

Deb,

First off I am envious of your job... it sounds like a whole bunch of more fun than mine.

The whole point of the Tilde Thread is to acknowledge your accomplishement and to give yourself a pat on the back when you make progress regardless if it is big or small. More gets done if you just keep plugging away.

The QUILTERS here ( I almost said GIRLS but that would have been sexist and inaccurate) enjoy spuring each others on and giving encouragement. Do not deprive them of the privledge of doing so by not posting. Let us all share our triumphs and our sorrows.

Keep up with a thread a day

Well, I have a new project in the planning stages. A fellow bowler wants me to make a wall hanging for an adopted grandson from Guatemala. So the I have layed out the first design idea and found some beautiful batiks to use. As for actual sewing, I tried to get some quilting done on my quilt that was put on the back burner, but have a problem with bobbin thread poking up. Machine is set to where I had it before, and am also using the same needle size and so on. The only difference is that I had the machine serviced. So maybe my tech "fixed" my tension to where it should be and now I have to figure out my new numbers. So today I will play with that.
Hope all had a beautiful weekend. Cheryl

I hope you don't mind, but,if I can use my job as a tilda thread note I would feel much better  At least it is these days the only way I have a piece of fabric, thread, and needle in my hand.
Well, I finnished one custom quilt on Sunday. Starting another one yesterday. have to pick out designs. sometimes that takes as long as stitching. But it is just as fun 8) .
Hopefully, tonight I can finally finnish the binding for a freinds wedding gift  . It's just sitting there staring at me :x .
Have a good day. debbie

Still struggling with the design challenge of the round robin. In an hour and a half this morning; I made a six inch block of flying geese. . .course one side of the top is 27 inches! Tomorrow, I am going to look for some coordinating fabric to see if I will like what I am doing better.
