well, I couldn't sleep last night so I got up and finished the decorative stitching on one blanket and got the other one done. Now I just need to put the baby's name on them. Almost two down and four more to go.

in the past few days I shopped for and assembled the pieced border for the guatemalan adoption quilt. Now I just need to make the applique for the center. Then its time to layer and quilt.

MY but you ladies have been busy... I played hooky for the weekend and went to visit my sister at her cabin. I did give her Wedding present the Christmas Kaleidoscope quilt I made for her. I finished adding the label on the ride up to the cabin. Only problem is now her daughter wants a quilt made for her.... I am going to have to quilt for 10 years just to get caught up.

I did figure out the setting triangles for my quilt... problem is I was short of fabric. I had to piece chunks of fabric together to make them big enough to cut out the last two setting triangles... That made the other not pieced triangles look funny. I fixed that by sewing the triangle down the middle to the point then re-cut the triangles... I always my setting triangles big so I could get away with this. Now I have 5 un-pieced triangles and 5 pieced triangle... It looks like a design decision.

I WON'T TELL IF YOU DO NOT TELL.

I am hoping I am off tomorrow then I can get some quilting done... it is raining in MID MI and cold... I am ready to stay indoors and dooooo nothing but quilt and maybe knit.

Have a good one

I was so pleased to have the borders on my Drunkard's Path quilt top yesterday, so that I could go to my quilt guild's meeting today and work on Quilts for Heroes without having that nagging at my thoughts. I took my Alto's cutting board and got lots and lots of pieces cut for the little kits we make up for the members to sew the tops. Other ladies were making the kits, sewing blocks, and basting quilts together so that others can quilt or tie them. It was such a nice way to spend the day.

After my productive weekend at the retreat, I was looking at my newly quilted quilt on the back and noticed that I had a whole bobbin's worth of eyelashes. When I ran out of bobbin I left the needle in the same place so I wouldn't mess up the stitch pattern and must have done some horrible thing to my bobbin because it is a mess. Now I am rippin'. What a waste of time. Judy in AZ

 Wow you ladies have sure been bzzzzzy.
I have managed to get another two quilt tops done, putting on a new one today.
With any luck, after I get back from taking dmil to store I will be doing another quilt top. Then I have to put out stakes, so my pitb neighbor will stay off my newly planted grass seeds. I have to fold clothes, then I can finally get to hand stitchin the binding on that poor wedding gift for this weekend.

Good stitchin everyone!!!!!!!

Sounds like you have all been busy.. I spent this week embroidering 12 blocks for the log cabin quilt I am making for the future great grandchild. Today I squared them all up and also embroidered names on two pillow cases for daughter in law and son to give to great granddaugter twins (there grand children). Hope to start putting the blocks together tomorrow... :D :D :D Keep on quilting and sewing everyone... Nan

Had a great weekend with projects. First, I have the eyes and beak to complete on an applique rooster project. . .then it will be on to the flowers/leaves that are appliqued on the background. Second, I sewed the border on the first round robin project and it looks great. (If you want to see it, check out my blog today.) Third, a friend asked me to put some old blocks (hand pieced by her great aunt in the 30's) together in a top. I washed the blocks, sized and squared them; took photos of some layout possibilities and am waiting for her reply. Fourth, I picked up a UFO that I started last February and started working on it. . .made a little progress on that too! I hope next week as productive! :D

Friday at quilt bee I got 6 baby blankets hemmed. I also started doing a decorative stitch around one of them. Today I got almost all the way around another one of them with a decorative stitch.

I've worked on a small wall hanging off and on for a week. I made the label last night and just need to sew down the binding today. I hope to start cutting my fabric for the mystery quilt that Kathy is doing in the member blogs. Sandi in FL

I have been at a quilt retreat all weekend at our LQS. I am currently making my DIL a quilt using Laurel Burch Mythical horses. I spent the day yesterday quilting the panel of horses and using stitch in the ditch around the borders. I echoed the horses and quilted contour patterns on the horses' bodies. I still have to work on it and it isn't professional looking like you longarmers do but it is mine and I like it. I would have let someone else quilt it if it were bed size. Judy in AZ

I finished the Drunkard's Path inner borders tonight, so maybe tomorrow I can tackle the embroidery on the center blocks and start putting them together.
