Whoo-hoo! So good Lorchen.

And Wendy, you don't have to be large to feel cramped on an airplane seat (especially if it's a Ryanair flight. ) If they put the seats any closer together we may as well unscrew our legs and send them in the cargo and then sit on the lap of the person next to us.

Rosemary, hbty, hbty, hbdR, hbty!
Well done! to those who have lost weight.
Take heart! to those who are struggling...you can do it!!
And to those dealing with illness, I pray that you will be well!

A week today. As you say it cannot get too bacchanalian :( , being the beginning of the week, but we could certainly go for a good blow-out meal - ie an Indian meal (but skip the rice, naan & poppadoms) or something like prawn cocktail, a good steak with veggies followed by berries & cream (for me, DH has a problem with dairy - it stops him losing weight) or extra dark chocolate. with red wine to wash it down with......

Because I am following The Harcombe Diet, which states 'Stop Counting Calories and Start Losing Weight' the 'rules' for Phase 2, which is for weight loss, are 1) Don't eat processed foods; 2) Don't eat fats and carbohydrates at the same meal; 3) Don't eat foods that cause your cravings. Once I get to the weight my body wants to be, then I will be able go to Phase 3, which is mixing occasionally (not too much or too often) and that should see me fine when it comes to keeping it off, because I am/have not been depriving my body of quantity or quality of food, but working with it. Zoe Harcombe, who joined up all the dots as to the whys and hows of weight gain/loss has been at a stable weight for over 15 years. (and for those in the UK, no she doen't eat Tesco's burgers  for those not in the UK, there has just been a scandel hit the headlines that Tesco's & some other places have been selling beefburgers that contain horsemeat, the jokes have been coming out nicely  )

Congratulations Rosemary! That's quite a milestone. Now keeping it off, that's the tricky bit. What day of the week is the birthday? If it's a week day then there will be less of a bacchanalian feast I suppose, which would be helpful right now :D

Woo-Hoo! I've finally broken the 10 stone barrier, and I managed it a week before my birthday 8) :D :D I was 9 stone 13 this morning (14 pounds = 1 stone) and that is despite having some cheats on Saturday afternoon.

A tight laced fully boned 17th C corset is useful for cleavage enhancement, and if you really want entertainment go down the beer tent with a punnet of strawberries or bunch of grapes  8)

Thanks to all for you kind encouragement. I only wish, Rita that I could re-distribute the butter, from my hips to the place that doesn't have a cleavage, but I wish it did! One pound each side would be nice 8)

Terrie 4lb is a very good amount to lose. Congratulations! I think of it as pounds of butter. So I know I have to get rid of 2 packets from each of my thighs, two from around my middle and one from each of my upper arms. Then I will be happy. :D But it's easier to say it than to actually do it.

This is SUCH great news to share! I too, have experienced those dratted chairs that my tush won't fit into. I told myself just today, that I'd better get to work on my weight, or soon I'll be forced to stand in certain waiting rooms! So, WTG and big congrats to you!! :D

Terri and Becky, you are both doing soooooooo well. If the weight goes down slowly it's much more likely to stay off. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

It's interesting that Becky mentions 'gluten free'. I come across more and more people who have a gluten intolerance, and even though I'm not amongst them, I have cut out most bread. I just treat myself to an occasional crispbread (Ryvita). With a little cheese (Brie or Havarti) on top, it makes this girl very happy.
