I Love the look of your blocks Annis! They'll be very homespun comfy when finished! I'd do it in a quilt - not just pillows. Can't wait to see the rest!

I've done a lot of frayed-edge work, mostly with simple designs, nothing this challenging. It's fun to do and you get to actually use the quilt instead of just admire it.

I posted my first block last week for November. This is my first time ever to do a block of the month but it looked like everyone was having such a good time I thought I'd give it a try. I'm using a different technique than everyone else, frayed-edge applique and quilt-as-you-go using plaids from my stash, because that's the only way I'd ever get this quilt finished. I hope Sue doesn't mind that I'm not following the instructions. This is my first year for major health issues so my life has been a little frayed around the edges lately!

Your block looks fabulous! I've never tried frayed-edge applique before, but love the effect and look. Pat yourself on the back for a job very well done!

Hi Annis! What a different idea. I love how your blocks turned out and never would have thought to do that. Thanks for showing them.

Glad to have you join us, Annis! Your blocks look great, and Sue is always glad to see the different fabrics and techniques in everyone's blocks! In fact, I'm working on my border, and instead of needle-turn, I'm also using raw edge fusible!

Cathy, great block, and the pink ribbon is perfect for this quilt documenting your family's journey. Sorry about losing your dad, always a tough time.

I finally finished November and downloaded December today. I had an orange sized cyst drained from my kidney on November 12th so the first two weeks I was in pain and the 2nd two weeks I was in pain! Then my hubby's dad (who's been my dad too for 30 years because mine died when I was 24) passed away on Dec. 4th so we've been busy with that and getting back to normal. I'm sorry I've missed commenting on all the blocks but they've all been amazing as always! See you soon with Decembers!

Linda, great block! I think the November block is my favorite block of the whole lot! Doesn't it feel great to be done with that part! Have fun coming up with the finishing!

I just posted my November (final block) in the Show & Tell. I cheated and did the December block first after returning from my trip. I'm still figuring out what I want to do for the border since I don't want to do the triangles. It's a bit too busy for me with the beauty of the flowers and vases.
