TOPIC: Posted July Block

Thank you so much Sue. But I can't take credit for the EQ6 idea. I believe it was Sandy who mentioned using EQ6 earlier to play around with the setting. Is this a great group or what? So full of ideas and creativity! And I'm looking forward to seeing your "other" quilt too!

Don't you love how Bridget has pasted her block photos into an Electric Quilt layout so that she can see what her quilt will look like? How cool is that - I love it!

That reminds me -- since you all have been soooo creative when it comes to choosing fabrics, colors, workarounds, etc... I fully expect you to all depart the ranch (that's a good old Texas expression for not following the rules and rebelling!) and assemble your quilts in untold varieties of ways. I can hardly wait to see how your creativity displays itself.

I have been working on a second TQS Bouquet quilt... same fabrics, but maybe, just maybe... I'll change up the setting! Stay tuned....

Ok, McQuilter, how do you know what block is August?

Oops, my mistake, the little red berries are for the October block. I think it was Nancy who asked how many berries were on that block and she was told the number; I had time on my hands, so I made them, as well. Now if I can just remember where I put them by the time October rolls around! JK - I know EXACTLY where I put them! As far as next month goes, it's roses and baby breath, according to a statement at the end of the instructions. Not sure which block that is, though! I think it might be 2nd from the top, far right.

Bridget and Linda great blocks. Is this not fun, you get to see what everyone else is doing?

Great Bridget,

I especially like your 'rooster vase!'

Ditto here! Great block, Bridget. We must be on the same schedule (lol) as I just finished and posted my block, as well. I'm just thrilled I was able to complete it while it's still July! Now on to August (I did make up the red circles in advance for that one, so perhaps I'll be quicker on August!)

Bridget, great block! My hats off to ya for working with the EQ! I have it, but haven't had the patience to learn it.

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, looking forward to another day in my quilting room.

Don't worry about the quilt police Terri. They can't bother you when they're at my house! They have apparently hired my 5-year-old daughter to join their "force". As I was (finally) finishing my July block, she came up to me and said, "You're still working on that?" Well, now it's done and posted.

Everybody's blocks are so beautiful! I constantly find myself thinking, "I should have done that!" or "What a great idea!"

but the small yellow ones- I tried a flower decorative stitch in the middle of them. It turned out so so. but the thread matches so one has to look close, hmmmm watch out for the 'quilt police' they won't like it.... 8)

oh, yes, a satin stitch. Very slowly....
I don't know how anyone is accomplishing the 'turning under' for the berries. I sure admire those who can! :P

Terri, WOW! Your block truly looks like a garden bouqet. Kudos on using that print for your berries! They look so fun! Did you satin stitch the stem for the berries? It looks awesome!

Maggie in E. Central Illinois, up early, but think it's supposed to rain today, so I won't have to water the lawn!
