More than I can chew.... 21 Jun 2008 21:01 #20503

I've finished the first three months.... March was really tough for me and I needed a break. I also want to do Sue's Night Before Christmas.. (Already received the first two months of blocks and barely started...#1) ... so now have a living room full of material, plastic tracings, background squares, etc., etc... and wouldn't you know it? I attended an applique class in May at the local fabric store and have been working on THAT wall hanging too.... and then there's the Karen Kay Buckley applique wall hanging I'm making for my daughter that I started two years ago... Oh... and did I mention my method is needle turn? There is a name for this condition, but I've got quilter's block. ... Duffy,

Your blocks are great and I, too, love the sewing machine cover! If we were at a quilt guild show and tell, we'd all be yelling "workshop" (as in, "teach us!"). I wonder if we could do a virtual workshop?

Oh my Duffy! Your blocks are wonderful! But I have to agree your Bernina cover is delicious!!! My Bernina needs one of those sweet cottage cozys! What wonderful idea for a cover...ah yes another project I just have to do!!
My June block is coming right along(all my pieces are turned and ready to applique to the background fabric). I should be able to get most of it machine appliqued this weekend!
Blessings,

Duffy --- Your blocks are beautiful. I've got to get out my EQ6 and give that picture idea a try.

Yuhu  I am also still working on my Bom.
I go with the flow. I try to use fabric that is stash around me and believed it or not it is a lot. I just finish May and June. I had to do some catching up work, but I am back on track and waiting for the next block. I hoop we can stay here in this form for the rest of the blocks, because with all these extra forums for each month its getting a little bit confusing, if you finish your block the next month. I was just thinking where can I tell you girls that I have finish my May and June block.
So go and take a look . By for now
Lots of love from Belgium, Duffy

Thanks, y'all! I think all of the BOMs are great and enjoy seeing everyone's. It would be pretty fun to get together in Colorado to show each other in person.

My sepia-toned BOMs were inspired by a really fantastic quilt pattern that has only three colors. I was looking for the perfect tan to go with my off-white and chocolate brown. I never did find the tan, but the chocolate brown is now my BOM sashing, plus bits in the blocks, and the off-white is the stars. [See Whitework Sampler at http://www.therabbitfactory.com/.]

I love hearing from everyone who is working on BOM. This is my first BOM and it has been so much fun. I love seeing all the different colors and how unique they all are.

Ok, I've been a naughty quilter girl....I want to be counted as a BOMer too!! I only have 3 of the blocks completed, but the other three are in various stages of completion! (does that count?) I do visit everyone of your profile photos for inspiration and read all the threads for the BOM several times a day. Just getting started again is good for my soul!!! Thanks for the nudge girls!!
