You know, Duffy, I might need to make a trip to Belgium to get that leaf from you.  8) 8)

I hear you about the garden, too. Mine is calling and calling and I finally answered yesterday - you should see my hands today! But the perinneals are looking great. My coreopsis are blooming like there is no tomorrow, the coneflowers are setting on blooms and even the caladiums are breaking thru the topsoil, the Louisiana iris are blooming.....! Spring is here in Houston!
Lynn

PS: Well, 2 hours later, I have made my new leaf, and just as finishing it --- you got it! Found the missing leaf!

Too bad. I would have enjoyed that trip to Belgium, too.

Now to go get my VERY FIRST block of machine applique out of the washer and see if it met the test of durability, etc. If it didn't, I will be back to throw my tempertantrum.............. and then get advice! :x

Thanks Margo, I though I did chance it. I is OK now!

Lynn, I find one here could that be yours, it is a green one?

Florence. Yes, I did bend a bias strip that whole way around.
I used a lot of steam and everything bends my way.

Maggie I was thinking to embellish de flowers with beats en some kind of red work stitches on the leaves en flowers.
But, first it was inportant to finisch the blocks first. When I have a litle time to spare I will put some embellishment on the blocks.
Maybe I will use the leave that Lynn has lost.

Still sunny here in Belgium.

There is a lots going on in the garden, I must keep quiet ore they will need me there. Suuuust

Duffy, your block is great! I love hearing from you, all the way from Belgium - a place I will probably never see in person. I love the strong contrast in your flowers, and the basket is great. I just finished my block, as well. Wasn't it fun?

Excellent Duffy! I love the basket fabric.

I'm just finishing Feb.

Can't find one of my leaves.........might just have to scrounge and piece a leave from two scraps to re-do it. My challenge will be to have some resourceful person find the pieced leaf after I post it!

Duffy, your basket and block are great! At first glance, I thought that you had embellished your star, but further examination showed that it was fussy cut. How creative!

Duffy I love your basket too! The handle looks absolutely "wrapped"-- did you bend a bias strip that whole way around? Maybe everyone did that, but I cut mine as a "U" shape, thinking a bias strip wouldn't take such a deep curve... but the directionality of your fabric works beautifully the way you did it! Florence

Beautiful block, Duffy! I love the basket fabric and the fussy cut star is GREAT!
You might want to go back into your profile and change the caption for the March block...it's still referring to the quilt with Kaffe!

Ha Ha!!! Its March 30th and I have gotten a start on my March block - I actually got it started before the end of the month!!! I have marked my background, made my FP templates, and pressed them onto the fabrics. Doing a happy dance... now lets see if I can figure out how to lay out all those stems... I might get this one done before April is over if I work at it, lol.

Ritzy that weaving is incredible! I agree the star would block too much of that, but if you wanted to go with the "every block has a star" idea maybe you could embroider a teeny-tiny star just center on the "lip" of the basket. :)
Florence

Good idea Florence! I think I will do that. And Yes, I did hand weave that basket.

Ritzy, did you weave the basket, or is it fabric that looks like it's woven? You are good with color, that's for sure!

Ritzy, you are so creative. Your block is beautiful and I love your vase! What a great idea! WandaM

I'd leave the star off or like Florence said embroidery a small one on the basket.
Happy Quilting,
