Well, I embroidered stem stitch on all my stems and leaves and uploaded March #2. I left the unembroidered on on too, but will delete it after everyone has compared them. I sure am NOT going to take it out!!!!!

Lori your blocks are coming together so beautifully. With the third block added you can really see what the quilt will look like when it's done.

Hi everyone. All the blocks that have been posted lately are wonderful. I'm happy to see that many more are joining in.

I've completed my March block and posted to my profile.

Beautiful ladies! I want to re-state that this is NOT A CONTEST! But, if anyone is interested in having a block included in the collage of the first 12, there are 3 slots left!

I'm just hoping that everyone is enjoying the process and the fun of playing together!

I finally finished my March block. :D I had company and birthday parties which slowed me down. I love seeing how different all the blocks look. Hope everyone has a great week.

Nancy, I love your blocks!!! For your light green stems and leaves you might try a medium green outline embroidery--a color a few shades between the dark stems and the light ones. It's also good to put the block up where you can see it for a week or two. That always helps me make decisions as to how to proceed when I'm stumped. Judy in Torrance :)

Charlotte, yes I do know that song! And I almost didn't do the yellow roses because I felt they wouldn't show up well against the background. But instead of invisible monofilament, I used a bright yellow (Alex's Masterpiece thread) and did a blanket stitch around the blossoms, and I felt that little bit of texture made the roses stand out.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to try stem stitch with floss to make veins in dark green in the light stems and light green in the dark stems. I will only give it a very short try to see how I like it. I am using Ricky's stable stuff in each appliqued piece and that might be difficult to embroider on. We'll see.

Thanks so much to everyone who has responded and cheered me on.

Nancy I love the fabrics and I love purple. I wouldn't do too much now either. You are right, you wouldn't want to ruin it. Once it's all together, you may feel differently.

Edited to add, looking at all your blocks as a group, your quilt is going to be stunning.
