Re: Hello and Welcome 29 Jan 2011 09:47 #55679

I didn't think I would be joining at this time but after my "last sleep" I thought I better do it before it is too late and I have to hunt and peck for this site on my own. I am traipsing over from Quilts Your Way where my screen name was "quilt garden." I opted to drop that name and go with "grannyagnes" which is the name my grandson dubbed me. When he was about five he wanted to know if my real name was Agnes why he called me Granny. I told him he did it to me. Quilting has been a passion since 1992 with very few short dry spots. Due to my husband's health problems I am in my driest period ever but I need to claw myself back to quilting. Hopefully joining with the rest of the QYW quilters here will do that.

Just getting around to joining the Playground. I'm May in Jersey from Alex's MB, looking forward to catching up with some old quilting pals here.

Learned to quilt in 1999 and it has taken over a big part of my life. Been working on making a quilt for each of my family members and close friends. Since I have 3 married sons and 9 grandkids it's taking me some time but everyone has at least a baby or lap size one. Grand kids are 10 to 27 years old so a few are in need of larger quilts, one is married, two have their own places, another graduates high school this year and, I'll be a great grandmother this summer so a baby quilt is on my list. Have been making baby quilts for extended family, nieces and nephews are all having children and 3 more expected this year. I also make a lot of scrappy charity quilts for my Guild, Heartstrings and a Vet's Group Home group.

Just had a big 75th B-day party and here's a photo of my with most of my grandkids, 2 grandgirls in CA couldn't make it. May

Hello Everyone..........I've been lurking in the old site since it opened and am sad to see it go but glad it's born anew somewhere else and I hope to participate in this one. I've made "friends" that I found fascinating and hope all the old members sign up and stay in touch.... I'm married, have two grown children and two wonderful Grandboys, I'm a traditional quilter. OK Me again. After checking out a couple of the forum pages, I realized that since we have our own playground we can post our activities etc here in our area and not go to the other "member blog" page. Yeah for me! So I solved my own question. I am glad to see so many people here and isn't it great that we recognize each other?

Hi and my name is Mary Noel. I too am coming from Quilts Your Way and before that Alex Anderson's board. I have always enjoyed reading about what others are doing and what is happening in their life. I quilt as much as I can get around too. I am a slow quilter so you can count on one hand how much my normal would be for a year. I would much rather make some quilts. One they get done and two I use it to learn new skills. I do not post my picture anywhere. Just don't like it. And so far I don't know how to post pictures. I think I might not be here then very often because I am not going to do the member forum which is like a chat? But it is an interesting place. So we shall see and I am glad to meet you all.

Hi, I'm Karen from QYW as iwritedocs. I've been a member here since it started but haven't been here much either lately. Glad we are all in one place now.

I've been seriously quilting for six years now and have way more projects started than I will ever finish it seems. You can see what I'm up to at my quilting blog: http://www.stitchingcircle.com I try to post regularly but sometimes life just gets in the way.

I'm happy to see all my friends for QYW signing up and posting.

Hi, everyone. I was "quiltlover" at QYW and will carry that over to this message board. Have started a new blog (not one to be left out) and you can visit me at http://iquiltforfun.blogspot.com/.

I enjoyed QYW and found everyone helpful and knowledgeable -- I'm sure we'll find the same here -- just a larger community!

Have a good rest of the weekend!
