Loved your pictures Nancy, but when I called Izzy to come and look at the moose, she asked whether it was chocolate or maybe strawberry..... :P

I looked it up on Wikipedia and moose have a rutting season around Oct. After mating, the males drop their antlers to preserve warmth in winter. They start growing them back in spring/summer.

I'll make a moose quilt some day, but it's part of a long list. We also get bears in the yard, but they are more nocturnal so it's harder to get pictures. And are, of course, hibernating right now.

Nancy,
Wow! How exciting! They look huge. I have never seen a moose, although we have deer in our yard every night. The dog can hardly stand it. She wants to go out every night and bark at them.
Are you going to make a quilt with a moose in it?

Glad you all liked my stories. I especially liked your comments. Pot holder contest! Yes!

I like seeing the sewing rooms of everyone else. But I think Nancy has us beat! 2 moose in your sewing room window! I can only boast a herd (?) of guinea hens. I've named them, Edna, Harriet, Frances, Betty, and more. They all "talk" at the same time, just like us!

That's amazing Nancy. Do they have a rutting season like deer? I guess if they were two males they must have been sparring in some way? How great to have such a big picture window. Glad you all enjoyed it. :cheer:

I thought I'd share some more pictures of my view from my sewing room. Here was my view this morning:

Lance and the kitties also enjoyed the view:

It was very exciting for all of us!

I've lived up here for 15 years and this was the first time I've seen moose in my yard. I'm sure they've been here, but I haven't gotten to see them. There were two this morning, both males who have dropped their antlers. We hung out together for over an hour before they got spooked and ran off. How exciting!!

Brenda, Your space is wonderful. Sounds like the menfolk's hobbies leave you plenty of time for quilting.

Wendy, You keep me laughing.

Geneva, i am still laughing.

I love, love, love quilters.

I love how well we can stay on topic!! If that is your seam ripper then what, exactly is your stash made up of? I have been working on about 6 projects simultaneously, so my sewing room looks like the fabric wall threw up on my cutting table! No room for a design wall, that's what I have a dining room table for. Where do we eat? On the coffee table of course since the breakfast table is home to DH and DS fishing and archery gear. Just your normal home environment.
