Well done Robyn and Nancy! I love old linens with their fine needlework.

OK-I started this challenge after I came back from my trip with the family. While there were many things that I could have done I wanted to be realistic in what I COULD GET done. There were many flowering plants that drew hummingbirds and butterflies(and let me tell you, when the butterflies flew close to your face--they were huge!). It was a windy day which turned out to be good for getting the picture because the butterfly had to keep opening its wings to stay where it was. So, here is the picture I took and used as inspiration for my project:

AND, here is my project:

That's wonderful, Robyn! Mine doesn't show much creativity, but it will be a nice present for my sister for Christmas:

This is a picture of my mom and her sister. My mom is the one on the right. The tatting around the picture is some that I found in her stuff that she was in the process of stitching around a handkerchief some decades ago. The background is one of those linens that they used to put on the back of a chair that I believe was embroidered and crocheted by her.

Robyn your quilt is terrific. Well thought out and exercised. Great for the first one to be shown on the Forum.

I was already to go to upload my photo. There's been a glitch in my photo sharing system between my phone, computer and iPad. Worked hard to get them talking to each other again. Whew, got it done in the nick of time. But now there are so many photos from my phone to get to my computer that this machine is still working on filing them. It will be a while until it gets to the last one on the list. Be back later.

Being a fairly literal thinker I wanted to just use the word "yesterday" on my little quilt. As my son studies Japanese at University I asked him to show me the Kanji symbol for "yesterday". This was my first effort at machine appliqué on my new Bernina and was such fun to do. I did straight line quilting behind the appliqué and then added red binding to brighten it up a little

Robyn, What a perfect way to start the CW Challenge reveal. I love your idea and the quilt is just lovely. So fitting for the beginning.
