Wendy have you any bread left, I have just run out! :D

So what you all up to? It's a bank holiday here in Ireland this weekend. (Not that our bankers deserve a holiday, IMHO!) I am doing a little work on my hexie quilt. Boy am I regretting doing these hexies so small! It feels like I will never get to the end of this one.

Good luck with that Wendy!

I had a thought today about the CW quilts we will be making - for those of us who have not done so yet. It might be a good idea to make the hanging sleeve in a spare few moments before the actual quilt is upon us. The maximum size of the quilt is 40" so we could make it that size and then cut it down if necessary. It would be one less thing to have to do when the time comes. Just a suggestion. :D

Would anyone like to do some quilting. For some reason I offered to quilt a colleagues first quilt for her grandson, she normally makes bags.

I must be a soft touch, the quilt is lovely four patch 5 in squares and white sashing. Trouble is they are all out and some don't have a seam allowance so are coming unravelled. The batting looked as though it's been dragged over a garage floor and is about an inch or more thick

I got it layered at our quilt group and am now wrestling it into my little machine. It's a big single size! Just remind me next time to find out more before I offer

Heartening to see some are recovered.

Those journal quilts are gorgeous and inspiring, I shall keep going back and looking at them

Sorry to hear you have not been well Maureen and I hope you are completely recovered soon. I was just reading Frieda's blog and if she was exhausted from the show then you must have been also - perhaps that added to your problems with new medication? Her work is fascinating. Are the journal quilts very small? I am wondering how she did those and other things as well because they look like a lot of work in themselves.

While looking at her blog I scrolled down to a link for missing quilts. Here's the link: http://lostquilt.com/

One of the missing quilts was a tiny yo-yo quilt that was apparently on display at the quilt museum in Paducah this year. It is terrible to think that people just walk in and take these prized possessions without a thought for the emotional connections people make with their work or for those who are the recipients.

The wonderful spread of quilts in aid of the Alzheimer’s Scotland 'Yes we Can - Together' project. They were in Jamestown Church over every pew, what a sight. You walked into the church and were greeted with beautiful quilts of all different colours. Over 200 quilts were donated at the show. They have collected nearly 5,000 quilts to cover Hampden Park Football Stadium. http://www.annhillquilter.co.uk/alzheimer-quilt-project.html

One of the exhibitors at the LLQS was Frieda Oxenham. She had her 52 Journals in 2012 on display. If you go to her blog http://friedaquilter.blogspot.co.uk/ and click at the side on 52 Journals in 2012 you can see them all. I found it hard to take photos of them, as there were always a lot of people around them. Scroll down her blog and you will see some of them in the church. Beautiful work.

Welcome back Maureen, sorry to hear you've not been well. I don't suppose the stress from the show helped. Just going to have a look at your link :D

The LLQS finished on Saturday 15th May, which was another great show. :) :) :) I had a day off on the Sunday to rest, as it had been a hectic few weeks. I was going to upload my photos to the computer and put some here but I started new medication that weekend and took a bad reaction to them so have been laid up in bed for a week. :( :( Started feeling human again yesterday and when I am back to normal I will show the photos. Meanwhile, go to http://www.lochlomondquiltshow.com/content/quiltshow13.html to see the winners of the competitions
