I have an overdue question. Where did the name "sisterhood of the traveling triangles" come from? I have to admit the name is what got my attention and first made we want to become a part of this wonderful experience. Nice work to whoever came up with our title.

Crocus999, Thanks for posting that info on the Depression block. I had to laugh though because this quilt has been anything but depressing! (don't worry, I really do "get" the name, I'm just teasing!)

Judith, your quilt is beautiful, too.

I am ready to sandwich and quilt but, I couldn't resist sending a picture now! I saw this pattern in 1997 in an issue of BH&G American Patchwork and Quilting. Jill Reber is the designer. The quilt measures 63"X63". I get bored with some repetitive quilt piecing
but, I loved putting this quilt together! Not knowing what pattern I would use I didn't know how many hst's to exchange. I needed to make quite a bit more the scrappy way and I enjoyed the whole process. I didn't keep the papers but, I did write the state or country on the pieces to have some documentation. Thank you for letting me be a part. Hugs to you all. Judith

Kalynn,

Hey, I cannot take credit for it because I emailed Terrie (Crocus999) to ask if it was okay that I used her layout. So you and I both love her design and was inspired by it. She told me it is called a Depression block and is from the 30s.

Have fun sewing!

JoJo,
Love your quilt and it's a good thing I do because that is the same layout I am using for mine! I don't have much done yet. Things just keep getting in the way of my sewing time. I was wondering though.... do you know the name of this layout/block? I had just been playing around on EQ6 when I decided on it but I know I've seen it before somewhere else.
