I'm questioning whether you even need the red border. I like the blue next to the quilt, and the blue next to the border brings out the blue in the border flowers. And, ditto what Margo said about the neutral line of HSTs at the outer border! Very cool!

I also like the blue as the center border. The values are too close between the solid red and the print so you couldn't really tell if you went to all the trouble to add another border!!
BTW...I really like the neutral line of HSTs at the outer edge!

I've been enjoying all the postings but am just getting back to HSTs. I stopped by my favorite LQS and picked out border fabrics today. Now for the big decision - the sequence for the borders. Should the blue be the inner or middle border? Any suggestions welcome!

Shirley, I hope you feel better very soon. I fell three years ago, sounds very similar to yours, some broken bones, I couldn't use my right hand for about 3 months! Take care of yourself, get lots of rest.

I finally got my triangles ironed and the paper off. It looks like I need to step up the pace. I have an art quilt to do for our guild show in September, and I fell last week and pretty well damaged the left side of my body. The ribs aren't broken but treated as broken, x-rays on my teeth today because my mouth was too swollen before that. Broke my glasses and my knee looks and feels terrible. I'm feeling much better and think I will try to sew tonight.

I'm very excited about our book and DVD. I first planned to do my quilt for our guild show in September, boy and I glad I didn't sign up for that.

For those who feel pressed for time, maybe it would help to think about it this way.

There are 24 weeks left in this year. That's 168 days. If you make an effort to spend just 15 minutes a day you will be able to work on your project for 2420 minutes or 42 hours. That's an entire week's worth of a "day job"!!!

If you need more than a week's worth of time for your planned project, just increase the daily commitment to cover your plans!

YOU CAN DO THIS!! :D
Mostly sorted out how I want my outer border to go, matched up pairs of hst's and have started by setting aside the first half hour after seeing Isabeau across the road to school to work on the chain piecing. Little and often should see this one finished, but I could probably do with a larger chunk of time to sort out my further paper printings.

Oh Carol, that is wonderful news! I really love it that we will document this wonderful worldwide sharing of our work that we have done.
I'm sending a big thank you to Edyta, Ricky, Alex, Debbie, Clara, Margo, you of course, and all the people who sent me HST's for my beautiful quilt. I'm just finishing up the binding and can't wait to post a photo. I'm enjoying seeing what others have done too.

Hi Kathy, Full details will be coming in the next week or two. I am working with TQS Lilo. Information will be posted in the Daily Blog and the TQS newsletter with all the details of how you can participate and share your quilts for the book/DVD. Debbie, Clara, and Ritzy went to a lot of hard work organizing the exchange and now it is time to share our Batik/SoTTT quilts with each other. So many wonderful friendships have developed from this exchange. Friendship that spread across the globe. It is truly amazing. I just think the story should be saved and shared with others. The announcement will be titled S.O.S SoTTT/Batik Exchange Project. Keep watch via the TQS Daily Blog and Newletter for information very soon!!!!

Thanks for the inspired motivation to get going on my quilt with the HSTs. If you need any help in editing the writing or any proof-reading, I may be able to help - I am an English teacher quilter! I have done this before - the editing - not the HST exchange, that is! This has been a first!

Just an aside - my DH is encouraging me to go to Houston - I know I've heard some ladies mentioning they are going, but is it too late to sign up? Maybe if some of you want to give me more info, if you have been there, or want/need a roommate, you could email me privately. I'm having a hard time thinking about all that expense on little old me, but he is getting pretty serious. Such a sweetie!
