Oh Carol, that is wonderful news! I really love it that we will document this wonderful worldwide sharing of our work that we have done.
I'm sending a big thank you to Edyta, Ricky, Alex, Debbie, Clara, Margo, you of course, and all the people who sent me HST's for my beautiful quilt. I'm just finishing up the binding and can't wait to post a photo. I'm enjoying seeing what others have done too.

For those who feel pressed for time, maybe it would help to think about it this way.

There are 24 weeks left in this year. That's 168 days. If you make an effort to spend just 15 minutes a day you will be able to work on your project for 2420 minutes or 42 hours. That's an entire week's worth of a "day job"!!!

If you need more than a week's worth of time for your planned project, just increase the daily commitment to cover your plans!

YOU CAN DO THIS!! :D

Dawn, wonderful that you mentioned the Batiks. I forgot about that one too. I will need to make sure those are included too. Ritzy did a wonderful job in organizing that exchange too. Will need to change the name to SOS SoTTT/Batik Exchange Project. This is going to be so much fun. The best part is I will get so see all this beauties and the wonderful talent from these cute little HST. Exciting times ahead. Well, need to get back to work. Just needed a little excitement to add to my day.

Well I love the idea but my quilt won't be quilted by Sept 1. Most likely top and back will be done just not quilted. But my thanks too for taking this on because I'd love to have the book and DVD.

OH CAROL!! Thank you so much for taking this project on! What a treasure you are going to create for all of us!!

I hope these deadlines will encourage participants to get their quilts finished so they can be included!!

Hugs,

OH MY! Another deadline! Can I make the January 1 deadline? Definitely NOT the first one! But, then there is the Fair, and after that the guild quilt show, then we are running into the holidays, and then Christmas! Oh my! Is it just me, or am I the only one that feels like I am spead to thin. For those of us who work in slo-mo, this could be a real challenge!!!

Carol, I think what you are doing is absolutely wonderful! This is no small task! I will try my best to get to these sweet little HSTs that greet me each morning, all standing at attention in a uniform line, by states, just waiting for me to call them into action! (I do have a good start on my batik HST quilt. Does this one count? It is my mini.)

Dawn,

Carol That sounds absolutely brilliant, a great reason to get on and get working on our quilts where possible and a real treasure to look forward to.

PS I'm pretty certain that there are one or two song re-writes out standing from Sottts members that we haven't seen yet

I have wonderful news. I sent an email to John Anderson at TQS and he got me in touch with Lilo. They are going to help me spread the word. They think the SoTTT Exchange S.O.S. (Save our Story) is a fabulous idea. I am so very happy. Lilo and I talked last night for about an hour. I will be making some finishing touches on a wonderful announcement that will appear in the Daily Blog and in the TQS Newsletter on SoTTT Exchange S.O.S. Book and DVD set. Watch for the announcement in the next few weeks. A Smilebox is a great idea too. This is going to be a very fun project to work on. I want to get a good amount of pictures before the Houston IQF show (Nov. 1) and have a sample/prototype ready for TQS to review. But the real book will not be out for at least a year. I am thinking to having the prototype deadline for those that have their quilt done, sent to me by Sept. 1. Those quilts will be in the sample/prototype book. Then for the final deadline for the "real" final book/DVD will be Jan.1, 2012. Keep watching TQS for all the info.

Thank you so much for wanting to participate in the SoTTT Exchange S.O.S project. I hope I get almost everyone that participated in the Exchange to also participate in the book. The more, the better, the book/DVD will be!!!

There are some fantastic quilts being made. This is a remarkable story that TQS, Edyta, Debbie, and Clara started. Please help me "Save Our Story" and share it with others.

Thanks for the ideas - I like the ice crystals idea - could even use some of my snowflake fabric blue with white-ish flakes! - I think I'll go with that one!

Well. . .you could sew a brown tree--representing no leaves in winter, or a blue tree representing ice crystals in winter or whatever says winter to you. . .it is your project or as one of my quilty friends says, "it is your fantasy!"

I LOVE the trees - I think I'm gonna make one like that, even if I have to make some more of my own HSTs! I also thought that maybe a wall hanging with four trees representing the four seasons might be nice, but what to do for winter? :?:
