TOPIC: Batiks

Re: Batiks 21 Jan 2011 08:41 #54040

I would like participate, but I have an interesting problem. I am currently in Florida for 8 weeks and do not have mail delivery. I emailed Edyta to see if the papers could be sent to me by UPS or FedEx, but have not heard. I would have no problem mailing the triangles to you, and my home address would be on the return envelop so I could get them when I get home.

Any suggestions?

Here is a part of Debbie's post where the guidelines are and it has the info. To ensure that everyone’s receives the correctly sized HST’s, we do ask that you use HST papers, whether you use Edyta’s, some you can purchase near you or some already. They must be 2” finished.
They can be purchased thru Edyta’s on-line shop at http://www.LaundryBasketQuilts.com. They are $10.95 for 25 sheets that will each yield 28 HST’s. The entire package will make 700. They are called 2” Triangle Exchange Paper and the item number is LBQ-0222.

We started a new forum to get this project going. Here is a website link to make it easier. Just post that you're in and add your name, and location. The guidelines are posted in this area and there is a lot of info to help. We are so excited about this and clearly so are others. There is OVER 50 people already from all over the world. Kinda cool!

Click on this link below and it will get you there.

Just a reminder that if you do want to participate in our exchange, please go to the new Forum called SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES to 'sign up'. The Guidelines have been posted and hopefully they will explain all you need to know. Please note that the exchange is not only for batiks...it has evolved into a mixture of batiks, prints, etc. That is also included in the guidelines.

Hope to see you soon in the SISTERHOOD OF THE TRIANGLES FORUM!

This is the first time I have posted anything EVER!! I have ordered the papers as well. I live in the gold country in Northern California. A little town called Wheatland. I have been collecting batiks and hand dyed for years. I'm really excited about this.

Hi, Mamas. All the information has now been posted on the new Forum called SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELING TRIANGLES under Friendship Triangle Exchange. We're asking that you sign up again on that post so we can keep track of everyone. We'd like you to include your city/state/country and you're first name if you're comfortable with doing that.

Hopefully everything has been spelled out clearly in the Guidelines, but if not, don't hesitate to ask.

I think this is a great idea. Are there any specifics we need to know outside of sending 2 inch triangles made with paper base? Where do we send them? Any further info will help. I am ordering the paper from the Laundry Basket.

We're getting very close now! Since the Batik Forum has so many posts, Margo and I thought it would be a good idea to start a new Topic specific to this exchange. Since we're getting participation from all over the world, we going to call the exchange the 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Triangles'.

That new link is: forum/friendship-triangle-exchange/4247-sisterhood-of-the-traveling-triangles-exchange.

We are going to ask everyone that definitely wants to participate, go to that link and let us know again that you want to join. It would be nice if you'd include your city/state/country so we'll know where everyone is from...and if you're comfortable with it, please include your first name too.

I'll be working on the guidelines this evening and hopefully have them posted this evening or tomorrow morning. We're going to get more publicity in the TQS Newsletter and Blog thanks to Mary Kay, so hopefully we'll have even more members who are interested.

And more good news, Edyta said she want to join our exchange!

More soon...

I'm pretty excited to join in. The quilt guild here is doing an exchange so I have been working away at making a few sets of 28 already. This should be fun.
